Hello dear 🤗 It’s been a while since my last post. 2024 was a blessed year for me, I had a nice collaboration as a patternmaker for a clothing production company and exhibited my works at the Romanian Embassy in Vienna, but there has been something more important going on 🥰 This year was about becoming a new me, preparing to welcome my beloved baby boy and start a new journey through motherhood. Baby boy arrived in September, and now, my dearest is already 3 months old courious little guy. I had some tiny little time here and there to work on my knitting projects, but I hope in the coming new year I will manage to share a few new works with you. I wish you a happy new year! May 2025 bring to you lots of joy and inspiration in everything you do! Hugs 🥳

Developing a pattern requires a lot of work and tests. Last days I have been working on the Overlap Cardigan improvements. Since I knit with dead end stock yarns, I work with small amounts. Each yarn I have is enough for 2-3 pieces only, and for every new yarn I have to adapt the pattern. Right now I focus on finding my own methods to improve the amount of time needed to adapt patterns. Although it is challenging to work with several yarns, it is exciting to try out every single time a new surface.

The Lime Stripes Top is a new style I made lately. At this point I did improve the shape of the top, I am getting very close to the fit I desire to create. After some test, also obtained the perfect width of the stripes that I considered best for this design. Delicate but bold, vibrating with joyous light and sparkles. Color variations will follow.

This is The Mohair Overlap Cardigan out of dark grey/black mohair wool and blue and silver lurex yarns. It has nice secure neckline, long tie, so it can be tied in the front also. It is a classic shape that can be styled easily, not only in the winter, I can imagine it worn in a late summer night also, on a spaghetti strap bias dress.

This is the fitting of the same knit pattern made out of different mohair wool yarns. I will make some alterations on the lime colour to have the same measurements and fit as the ivory and blue ones. The result is pretty satisfying but still I will reknit all 3 colours with final changes ☺️

For the moment I am working with dead end stock yarns that I find in extremely small quantities. This way I am able to experiment with more colours and qualities of yarn. These 3 colours of mohair wool seemed to be the same qualities and I made 1 proto of each, but surprisingly the same knit pattern did not work the same way. The result is still exciting. I used a loose stitch size that gives lightness and some transparency to the garment and combined with the lurex it looks even more delicate.

On the collar cardigan I used lurex yarn alone as a colour on stripes, did not use in those stripes the lurex together with viscose, as I did on the overlap cardigan or square neckline top. The discreet silver stripes add spice to the colours and give a special twist if you combine with natural fabrics like linnen or h**p fabric.

The overlap cardigan has a very feminine neckline. Creating this design I focused on making the pattern in such a way that the neckline doesn't become to uncovered and doesn't give an unsecure feeling. It is comfortable, the overlap gives the possibility to adjust on the body and the long ties allows to wear it even double tied, with bow in the front or on the back. The colours on the thin stripes merge and reflect a vibrant shade with silver sparkles.
