In Ancient Egypt lotus pictures appeared on tombs more than 5 thousand years ago, in India the great gods Lakshmi and Brahma are often pictured sitting in a lotus flower, and Buddha is classicaly depicted with a lotus. In all the cultures honoring the flower, lotus is considered to be the symbol of purity - pure thoughts and virtue that repel any vice.

This is Mennad, he is a local jeweler. He is a Berber and lives in the mountain village where he was born and raised, and where now he brings up his grandchildren. All week he lives at home, in the Atlas Mountains. But once a week, he comes to Marrakech, to the store where he sells his family's jewelry and pieces gathered from his neighbors to the tourists.
He sells at a high price. At first he was offended that tourists do not bargain and do not try to bring down the price, then got used to it :))
