Virunga Clothing & Gifts hope the lava flow doesn't head towards Gisenyi (or anywhere else tbh). We have fostered great relationships with Gisenyi & Goma craftsman, weavers and tailors. Prior to , we planned to start selling locally produced clothing & crafts. That has been placed on hold. None of that is important right now. We just are sending our thoughts & prayers to those affected by this horrible situation.

Horrible news of Mount Nyiragongo's eruption. Hope all in Goma, DRC are safe and that the eruption causes only minimal damage. Before suspending operations (b/c of covid) worked with Congolese traders in Gisenyi. We are reaching out to our contacts. Keep safe everyone!

How are people feeling with the upcoming holidays? If it hadn't been for Covid putting a damper (to say the least) on our operations, we would have tried to promote Rwandan clothes for sale for this holiday season.

Can't wait to return to Rwanda & see Kitenge fabrics. There are so many unique clothing options. We rely on Rwandans for sewing and finalising as they really know how to handle this fabric and to help local businesses & entrepreneurs.
