Senior Merchandise Planner – Planning, Allocation & Replenishment (OTB/WSSI)
Business: Multi-format retail group in Seychelles (Department Store, Bookshop and Matalan franchise)
Reporting to: Commercial Director
Location: Seychelles (on-site)
Role Summary
We’re hiring a hands-on Senior Merchandise Planner to bring discipline to buying, stock flow and store availability. You’ll own OTB/WSSI, lead weekly trading, and run allocation and replenishment across a DC → store day store (backroom) → shop floor model. You’ll work closely with VM and Store Managers to keep the right stock in the right place and reduce overstock and slow-moving stock.
Key Responsibilities
Build and manage OTB (Open-to-Buy) by business unit and category; control receipts against plan.
Maintain a practical WSSI (sales, stock, receipts, margin, markdown) and refresh forecasts weekly/monthly.
Run the weekly Trading / Allocation / Replenishment meeting and publish a clear action list with owners and deadlines.
Own allocation logic from DC to store day stores (initial allocations, depth by store, newness push, VM priorities).
Design and execute replenishment rules from day store to shop floor (minimum presentation stock, size integrity, exceptions).
Manage DC top-ups and inter-store transfers to fix gaps fast while keeping stock balanced.
Lead slow-moving stock actions: stop-buys, transfers, markdown plans (in partnership with VM and Store Managers).
Produce simple, reliable weekly reporting: availability gaps, overstock / slow movers, fast/slow sellers, inbound pipeline.
KPIs
Reduced overstock / slow movers and improved stock turn
Improved availability on core and key lines
Clear OTB control (cleaner intake phasing; fewer reactive overbuys)
Required Skills & Experience
Proven retail planning experience in Merchandise Planning / Inventory Planning / Allocation & Replenishment
Strong working knowledge of OTB and WSSI (you can build and run them)
Advanced Excel (pivots, lookups, basic modelling; Power Query a plus)
Confident working with store teams and VM — practical, firm, solutions-led
Experience with ERPs such as ERPLY, NetSuite, Dynamics, or LS Retail
Compensation
Competitive package. Net salary based on experience, plus accommodation, utilities, work permit and return flight at end of contract.
