Confession: we want you to do laundry less.

Merino wool naturally fights odor and bounces back into shape, so your Woolpower gear can handle 5+ wears before it needs a wash. Just hang it up, let it air out, and you're good to go.

And when wash day does come? Skip the delicate cycle. Woolpower can handle water up to 140°F. Most wool garments make you baby them with cold water only. Ours don't.

Wear more. Wash less. Let the wool do the work.

Ever wonder why your wool pills? Don't worry, it's not falling apart on you, it's just how the fabric's built.

We knit it pretty loosely and keep the wool's natural crimp intact, with terry loops on the inside that trap air for warmth. That same construction is what causes the pilling. The pilling doesn't affect how it performs, so no need to cut the pills off.

Your base layer's doing more work than you think. It's not just the shirt under your jacket, it's the thing actually keeping you dry, since it sits closest to your skin. Its job is to pull moisture away from your body and let it evaporate before it can cool you down.

Staying dry is what actually keeps you warm, not how many layers you're wearing. Cotton holds onto that moisture. Wool's built different.

My friends and I graze on farms in Uruguay and Argentina, and our wool's what goes into everything Woolpower makes.

The welfare of my flock comes first. We always have access to food and shelter, and we're free from fear and distress. No mulesing, ever. Some producers still use this technique, cutting the skin of young lambs. That's not us.

Why? Because a happy sheep makes happy wool.

We're used to getting what we want, exactly how we want it, whenever we want it. Not gonna lie, fast fashion's basically built around that: quick trends, quick turnaround, cheap enough not to think twice.

Packed for a summer hike and left the wool at home? Are you cringing reading this, thinking, "why would I ever wear wool in the summer?"

We get it.

Wool has a reputation as a winter fabric, but that's only half the story. Merino regulates your body temp, no matter the season. This is because it wicks moisture away from your skin, so you stay just as comfortable on a warm July hike as you would on a snowy one in January.

How do you choose a base layer?

Perfect question for changing seasons.

Part of it has to do with your body temp (do you run hot, or cold?). Another part has to do with what you'll be doing (lots of start/stops or hardcore burning?).

But there's also a little science to it. Choosing the right material will help regulate your temp no matter what you're doing.

Here's a simple explanation about how to choose between our LITE base layers and our 200s.
