Our friends Bygg & Snickeri are once again participating in the TV-show “Grand Designs”. This time as carpenters on fantastic vacation home project. We visited Rasmus and John on the construction site this spring before the house was completed. If you want to see photos from that visit you can find a link below. We are super excited to watch Grand Design Sverige tonight and see the end result.

Check out the previous season of Grand Designs on Swedish TV4, season 1 episode 3 where they follow Rasmus and his project of building his own house in the middle of the forest on Södertörn.

Karshamra Mat & Trädgård is an organic farm with a gastronomic focus and a goal to work in a sustainable cycle where cultivation, gardening and cooking are connected in a plant to plate cycle.

The place is run by couple Agnes and Mauritz Larsson Stormgaard. Both with a vast experience of food and wine from renowned star restaurants in Stockholm.

We had such a great and inspiring visit on this field trip and they fed us with several important insights. Of course, we led the conversation to workwear and what specific needs of functions they have, what durability means for them and what fit they prefer for the kind of workwear they use on the fields, in the kitchen and in the greenhouse.

We are more than interested to hear about your ideas of what features you miss or want to add to your work clothes and what functions are the top priority for you in your daily work. Please let us know!

Ps. We can really recommend a lunch trip to , on the weekends they serve the best of the best wood fired pizzas.

There is feverish activity on the small island in the middle of Lake Mälaren. At the beach there is a cargo barge filled with building materials, and the small boats go back and forth to the mainland to transport people and pick up fuel and small items.
In the middle of the organized chaos stands Petter Levin with the phone in one hand and drawings in the other. Petter is the project manager for the entire construction, which involves coordinating about 15 construction workers and craftsmen who demolish old houses, build new ones and in connection with that build a lot of nice well-being facilities and updated water and sewer.
Petter moves in where needed and is responsible for the blasting that is carried out to lower the bedrock in places.

RPJ is a trio consisting of a father and his two sons and the letter combination "RPJ" is the initials in their names Rasmus, Pontus and John Larsson.
RPJ has made a name for themselves in the construction community through their excellent reputation as craftsmen which has led them to the opportunity to build several truly spectacular and fantastic houses.
Architecture and design are very close to their hearts and their love for their profession. The precision in their crafting has paved the way for them to work with several of Sweden's most renowned architects.

Homage to Fromage! Today is cheese day in Sweden and we want to take the opportunity to pay tribute to all dedicated cheese merchants and dairy farmers around the world who continue to make fabulous milk that turns into all kinds of delicious cheese.
Soon we will dive deeper into the world of cheese and the man who guides us through the world of cheeses is none other than "Ost Ola" who runs Fromageriet at Hötorgshallen in Stockholm.

When Christoffer was a young boy, his friends dreamed of becoming police officers or firefighters, he himself dreamed of becoming a bricklayer. Which he became and has worked as for over 20 years.
In 2013, he started his own company together with his colleague Joakim and they focus on installing new and renovating old tiled stoves around Mälardalen in Sweden.
We met at Carl von Linné's manor outside Uppsala, where Christoffer was in full swing renovating the tiled stove in one of the two soldiers' crofts that belong to the property.

Carpentry, mending and recycling are Jimmie Jansson's great passions in life and that he became a carpenter at his own company came as no surprise. He gets an outlet for all the exuberant creativity that pulsates in his veins in his workshop.
Wood from an old sunken skiff, a bright orange floor tom and other toys and re-used material can be found on Jimmie's storage shelves. In the corner, his VW Transporter project is taking place.

In a beautiful corner property located in Midsommarkransen in Stockholm, Erik Heggestad runs his one-man company "Svenska Armaturer". A company that Erik started based on his genuine passion and interest in Swedish industrial luminaires. From here, he handles new productions, as well as renovation and repair of classic lamps and fittings that literally light up your life in a wonderful way. Join us on our visit to Matte Wiberg, a legend in Swedish boardsports who alternates his job as a designer with building surfboards in his own shaping workshop just a stone's throw from Torö Stenstrand, the Stockholm region's most famous surf spot. Matte talks about approaches as well as helpful tools and where you can find bio-based epoxy on the web.

The idea for what became .fabriken arose at the intersection between photo/film studio and wood/metal- and painting workshop. Finding a good workshop in commercial rental studios was hard and as set dressers and decor builders, the three brothers Tage, Nils and Toft, saw a potential to find the premises that could house both parts. Said and done. The "Guldfabriken" studio is located near their customers in the Slakthuset area south of Stockholm. Guldfabriken have created a feeling of almost eternal space for creative height, both for their customers, but also for themselves as makers. This is a place where people truly enjoy to go to work.
