During those strange last weeks I have been trying my best to work from home. Honestly I’ve not been very productive, partly because working with three children at home is harder than one might think, a bit like a puzzle that will never come together how much you even try, and partly because during those weeks we seem to have picked up all the flus and colds around. If it was the virus I guess we’ll never know, but it feels better to be safe than sorry so staying home some extra days.
Finally, I’m so glad that my energy levels are rising again so I made sure to use up a bit of this jersey fabric that has been laying around at home forever. A rescued deadstock textile from an old fabric shop and a tailor.
To my surprise,I might even start to like purple. 💜

Being a mother of three and running a one person company the winters can be quite challenging. If it isn’t a stomach bug it is the flu and so on!

But finally, here we are again and it’s always so fun to show up to work.

Now I’m draping a pattern for a wedding gown. It’s for a client who has her wedding quite soon actually. The fabrics ordered are just around the corner and I can’t wait to feel and see them.
For this quite untraditional dress we chose a delicious organic orange peel fabric, naturally dyed with champagne/caramel color.

I can only say that I’m very excited about the outcome 😍

But talking about my sunbathing serger!
I’ve been lucky, I found this amazing old serger quite cheap, but it actually works wonders. I knew the brand and what I was going for. When you start thinking about it, things sometimes seem to just come your way in some magical way.
I tend to love the old strong machines and I long for the day I can use my beautiful old pedal sewing machines as well.

I believe in buying second hand. Second hand does not mean bad. It means previously loved and everyone gains. You and the environment.
I tend to buy everything used. You can practically find almost anything.

I also believe in repairing the old, so make sure to dig up your favorite garment that has been waiting in the shadow and bring it back to the light.
There is almost always a solution to a problem.

I finally released my old Husqvarna from its case!
Husqvarna automatic is definitely one of the best atelier option for alterations on thicker textiles and jeans. So old but so so strong and pretty 😍 and it doesn’t take so much space although it is definitely getting a little crowded in here.
