MILLINER KARIN LINDER AND JEWELRY DESIGNER MAKOTO HORISAKI MET IN STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN IN 2010 AND SHORTLY AFTER PUTTING THEIR HANDICRAFT SKILLS AND CREATIVITY INTO THE NEW LABEL HORISAKI. WITH INFLUENCES FROM NATURE AND PAST CULTURES, WHERE ACCESSORIES HAD A PURPOSE, THEY DECIDED TO REINVENT AND INTRODUCE THEIR DESIGN IDEAS INTO A NEW DESIGN PERSPECTIVE OF ACCESSORIES. Our toquilla hats are made from fine Panama straw, sourced and hand-crocheted in Ecuador using traditional techniques. Lightweight, durable, and naturally breathable, each piece reflects the craftsmanship behind the material.

In our atelier, every hat is hand-dyed, washed, and shaped by hand to create organic textures and lived-in tones that develop character over time. No two hats are exactly alike.

At Horisaki Design & Handel, we value craftsmanship at every stage — from the Ecuadorian artisans who treat the straw to the final finishing in our atelier.
