PEGGY LOSES PUGLET!
Sara and Peggy are getting ready to fly to Spain. They’re staying in a hotel overnight and flying back the next day, so they need to pack a bag with things for their journey.
Sara puts her pyjamas, a toothbrush and a book in the bag. Peggy adds her blanket, a ball and Puglet, her very special toy dog. Puglet goes everywhere with Peggy.
When they get to the airport, Sara leaves her bag with all the other luggage so that the airport workers can load it onto the plane. Then off they go!
But when they arrive in Spain, Sara’s bag is nowhere to be found.
“How annoying,” says Sara to the airport official. “I can buy a new toothbrush, but what about Puglet? Santa Claus gave him to Peggy, and we can’t replace him. She’ll be very, very sad if we don’t get Puglet back.”
“Let’s see what happens,” says the airport official. “Puglet might have been put on the wrong plane by mistake, but he’ll probably turn up tomorrow.”
“Poor Puglet,” thinks Peggy, sadly. “He’s all alone and won’t know where I am. He could be in India or Italy, Thailand or Turkey. What if he’s lost forever? I may never see him again!”
Peggy hardly sleeps a wink that night, worrying about Puglet.
Next day they make their way back home and – what a surprise! – they find their bag waiting for them. It had been left behind when they flew to Spain and had never even left the country.
Peggy rummages in the bag and finds Puglet.
“I’m not going to let you out of my sight ever again,” she promises Puglet. “Let’s go home and catch up on our sleep in my basket.”
What a relief!
