Saman Amel Handmade tailoring by appointment. www.samanamel.com The foundations of the Saman Amel brand was laid in late 2009 by Saman Amel and Dag Granath.

The brand today is the result of a organic process with its main focus upon the refinement of the product offered. To some extent, one could argue that the brand has developed as a reaction to today’s ideals of fast fashion. Locally based craftsmanship and the concept of the handmade product has always been a key part of the Saman Amel heritage. An unwillingness to compromise on the quality of the

product has generated a relatively slow production process - a process of refinement. No matter the specific product, this slow and organic process will always be key to the brand since it makes room for contemplation and fine-tuning. The brand has always been working towards delivering products with the highest possible quality and craftsmanship; no matter the margin or revenue of the specific item. This is something we take great pride in.

The HI-group was a collection of sixteen master craftsmen and interior designers who sought to bring a new life to Swedish furniture design during the first half of the 1960’s. What the group was trying to achieve was a collaboration between master craftsmen (hantverksmästare) and interior designers (inredningsarkitekter) - hence the name HI-group.
