A FAMILIAR FEEL

The newly released Sandstone Mohave variety is a durable full-grain rough out leather made on a palette inspired by the antiquities and treasures found in the natural world. Calming neutrals and dusty tones evoke ancient landscapes, earthy minerals and enduring forms.

Unlike suede, our rough out leather is not split into thinner weaker sheets. We use full grain leather flipped inside-out instead to maintain the durability expected from a pair of Red Wings!

A VINTAGE DRIVE, A NEW SEASON

Set off through the Sierra de Mijas in a 1975 Volkswagen Safari, and put the Red Wing Weekenders to the test. From hiking rugged peaks to wandering whitewashed streets and pausing by the sea, every mile carries the warmth, colour, and freedom of Andalusia. More than a road trip: an open-air escape into the rhythm of southern Spain.

Weekenders have a stitchdown construction which is one of the world’s oldest footwear construction methods, dating back to the 17th century. Like all other construction methods used at Red Wing Heritage, these shoes are fully re-soleable for longevity in wear.

LOGGER BOOTS THAT LAST A LIFETIME

When now-retired professor and guitarist Michael stepped through the door in his boots and told us his story, we simply had to share it with you all.

Michael bought these Red Wing Logger boots at a hunting shop on Drottninggatan - the main shopping street in Stockholm - in 1974. Since then, they have tagged along on all sorts of adventures - from gigging in a rock band in China, to post-doctorate studies in Berkeley and Harvard - and they still keep him comfortable on the trail today, 52 years later!

The first picture is from his adventures in Yosemite National Park in 1978. The following pictures are how his boots look today (still great!) in 2026.

Michael's story is an inspiring reminder of everything we stand for here at Red Wing Shoes. If you take care of them, they'll take care of you!
