Let bears lead the way towards stopping animal testing and pioneer locating already existing solutions in nature

The study that takes place at Washington State University shows how hibernating bears could hold a clue to treating diabetes with a simple blod test. How the tests was conducted also holds a key to how science can be done more ethically and with alternative methods, while searching for solutions to cure diabetes.

"Because humans share most of our genes with bears, understanding the role of these eight proteins could teach scientists more about human insulin resistance" sais one of the researchers from the Washington State University.
