One last little surprise. 🤍

This time, our founder Alicia called our last lucky customer, Daphne, herself — to say thank you, and to share a little anniversary surprise with her personally.

And as we wrap up this series, we want to say something a little bigger:

Thank you to every woman who has ever shopped with Esse.

Every order, every repeat purchase, every piece you’ve worn until it became part of your life. Every message, recommendation, try-on, review and conversation.

Nine years ago, we started with a small rack of clothes in a living room. We could never have imagined how many lives those clothes would eventually find their way into.

A little note from me about our little corner of Clarke Quay. 🤍

If you’ve visited River’s Edge Abode recently, you’ll know it’s been a rather noisy few months.

With the ongoing construction and roadworks right outside our doors, getting to us hasn’t always been as easy as we’d like — and naturally, we’ve felt the impact on foot traffic too.

For a small independent business, these things matter.
Retail takes a lot of courage, commitment and, sometimes, a fair bit of faith. There are plenty of days when you wonder if you’re doing the right thing.
But we’re still here.

And through all the noise outside, we’ve been reminded of why we wanted to create River’s Edge Abode in the first place — a space where you can slow down, discover independent brands, have a conversation, and simply take a moment away from the pace of the city.
So if you’ve been meaning to visit but have been putting it off because of the construction, consider this your little reminder:

Some relationships come full circle. 🤍

For our ninth anniversary, we’re celebrating the women who have become part of Esse’s story—and Eunice (Eun🌷) is one of them.

She first discovered Esse as a customer four years ago, and we met in person at one of our very first try-on sessions for our Cloud styles. Four years later, it feels especially meaningful to have her return to the Cloud story as part of Becoming.

What started with trying on a few pieces has grown into a friendship and a shared appreciation for thoughtful, intentional dressing. Today, Eunice is also part of our wider community of women who share their love for Esse with the people around them.

We love seeing how the pieces find their way into different lives, wardrobes and seasons—and how the women who wear them become part of the story in their own way.

For us, Becoming is a celebration of exactly that: the people we meet, the relationships we build, and the women we continue to become.

For our ninth anniversary, we asked you to leave us a wish—not just for Esse, but for everything you’d like to see, feel and experience with us in the years ahead.

We’ve been reading every single one.

But every note reminded us of the same thing: Esse has never been built alone.

It has been shaped by the women who have worn our clothes, shared their stories, given us feedback, challenged us, encouraged us, and stayed with us through all the different chapters.
