How often do you see a faceted Opal?

I love the bright play of colour in this 1.31ct smoked black Welo Opal from Ethiopia. Nice cushion cut makes it versatile enough to be used in a variety of ways 😊 And it’s always a joy to look at these gemstone pieces to admire it’s beauty!

This is such an ethereal piece!

Chalcedonies are from the Quartz family and it is said to absorb negative energy. I think just admiring its subtle shade calms one’s soul.

The March birthstone is named from Latin for ‘seawater’ and was believed to calm the waves and protect seamen on their maritime voyages. Some say it’s the ocean turned from water into stone, others claim it’s a mermaid’s spell, and it’s even said to be a healing stone. Maybe that’s why it’s believed to enhance the happiness of marriages and relationships?

A lovely gemstone find from Mozambique. I love this tourmaline for its bolder pink shade, fascinating cut (pear masquerading as a heart!), VVS clarity and overall appeal. Tourmalines are a really versatile gem, and this piece is a stunner for sure!

I look forward to each year’s new Colour of the Year by Pantone, mostly for fun these days. Very Peri is the shade for 2022 — quite sublime, evokes calm yet could have possibilities for fun and dynamism!

Citrine is also a November birthstone! Its warm colour brings cheer and is said to bring healing… The citrine has been a popular gemstone since ancient times and can be found in Scottish jewellery from the Victorian era. Did you know that it’s also the gemstone that represents the 13th anniversary? 😊

I was inspired to put together a cluster of gemstones for a ring after spending the afternoon looking at jewellery designs… the centrepiece of this cluster is a 2.91ct paraiba-coloured Apatite, along with sky blue topaz pieces (octagon and oval cuts), golden yellow citrines for a pop of colour and accentuated with several blue sapphires. Though the clarity of these individual pieces are VS-SI, their lustre sure make them a joy to behold. This is going at a special price… DM me for details!
