Happy International Women's Day!
2025 has been a fruitful year for Ashiu Atelier professionally. On the personal front, it's been tough but I have learnt to pick my battles and keep showing up and move on.

Past year Key Events
- 1 yr of serving at Vinnies for coordinating upcycling sessions
- Hosting sewing club members meetup at my place
- Sept: Trip to HK coinciding with Elle Fashion Week
-Oct: back to sketching to understand the body form better
- Nov: Attending workshop; saw my dream shop in Kaohsiung: met with Shih Chien University to discuss on future course
- Dec: Sarong Kebaya Course fully utilizing skills future; Nyonya beading course using
- Jan 2026: Attended corset course in Shih Chien University

It's been a year of ups and downs but throughout all this, I thank the Good Lord for being with me through it all

STOP the presses 🛑 ✋ I just found out that this darling girl .petropoulos wore what was meant to be her wedding dress to Glamour on the Grid last night.

She was due to get married in late Dec ‘25 but found out a few months before that her fiance had been a cheating scoundrel. Suffice to say the wedding did NOT proceed.

She repurposed the frock for this occasion, and said she felt great giving the dress a night on the town!

Incidentally, last week I also saw her win people’s choice creator of the year at the AIMCO Awards so guess she took dem lemons and has made some pretty sweet lemonade.

Plus, at the end of the night she didn’t have to go to bed. She just lay down and tucked herself into the doona 😂

I love how in this case the dress is symbolic of reclaiming the narrative. Reclaiming her story and embracing the different direction her life has taken. ❤️

I don’t know this lass well at all, we’ve only met once, but I share this story with her permission cause I’m so proud of her! ✨

3rd meetup of this year.Hi all I am having a sewing meetup in Newton area on 14th Mar 10am to 3pm . Cost of booking function room will be shared among all attendees , less than 5 SGD. Do comment if U like to come?
We will have 2 machine setup and you can bring your projects to sew. sewing books available for borrowing. Tables available for drafting. This is not a class but more of meetup among hobbyists. Seats are limited DM for more info
