I wanted one tiny surprise inside the pocket: TINY IMPORTANT NONSENSE.

Very WhereBilly. Very unnecessary. Therefore obviously essential. 😂

Then I remembered every single patch has to be positioned, stitched on individually, corners turned, BACKSTITCHED because please don’t forget, threads trimmed… times 20.

I genuinely love sewing, but making 20 of the exact same tiny thing has been quite an eye-opening experience LOL.

But this is the part I love too. All these ridiculous little details that nobody technically needs, but somehow make the whole thing feel complete.

Basically I keep designing extra work for myself and then acting surprised when there is extra work. ✶

Working through your Curious Club orders and currently paying for every unnecessary design decision I made with my own two hands. 😂

I wanted the ruffles double-sided so the bag has a slightly different mood depending on which side you’re carrying.

In my brain: ✨ clever little detail ✨
In reality: more cutting, more sewing, more ironing, more questioning my choices.

But they’re coming together SO nicely and I’m very happy I didn’t take the easy route.

Still slightly wild to me that you guys bought into this while half of it was still living in my head. Now I’m here making it real, one tiny ridiculous detail at a time. 🧵👁️

A little moodboard of the world behind this first chapter: Singapore summer, greenery everywhere, soft blues, strange little eyes, ruffles, gingham and a few unexpected pops of colour.

You’ve seen the fabrics.
You’ve watched me make it.

But I’m still keeping enough to myself for the final piece to feel like a surprise when it becomes yours.

There’ll be little extras, printed bits and tiny surprises tucked into the experience too, all chosen around the mood of this chapter.

Okay, one secret is officially out.
Chapter One is a bag. ✶

But I’m still not showing you the whole thing.

What you can know:
it’s handmade by me
it’s made from these fabrics you’ve already been seeing
every piece is cut and sewn individually
it belongs to the strange little world of Curious Club

What I’m keeping for myself:
the exact final version that becomes yours.

Also… small plot twist: I’m technically part of the Curious Club too. 😂

This is my first time sewing a bag with a silhouette this complicated. I drew it, adjusted the pattern about 728 times, and now I’m figuring it out as I make it.

So I don’t completely know how the final thing will turn out either.

Which somehow makes this even more fun.

We’re basically all going to find out together.

So no, this isn’t about paying for a totally unknown object.

It’s about knowing the direction, the making, the world it belongs to… and letting me keep a little room to experiment, choose and surprise you.

That little leap of curiosity and trust is the whole point of Curious Club.

Chapter One is getting harder to hide. 👁️

You’ve seen the pattern.

There’s sewing involved.
And yes… that was an entire wall of zippers.

One more hint: this one is made to be used, taken out, and become part of your everyday life.

I’m still not showing you the full shape though. Some things are more fun when you don’t get the whole answer immediately.

At this point, the zipper may have given me away a little. 😂

Meet Curious Club ✶

A little corner of WhereBilly for all the ideas in my head that don’t quite want to become earrings or illustrations.

For the first season, there’ll be 3 chapters: August, September and October.

Each chapter will be something different, made in whatever medium I feel curious about exploring.
You’ll know what kind of thing you’re getting, but some details will be left as a surprise for me to choose. 👁️

Each chapter is purchased separately. No auto-renewal, no 3-month commitment, and there’ll only be a limited number I can realistically make.

Earrings are still very much staying. This is simply another little world for me to play in.

Chapter One opens 14 August.
