The past few days have been filled with preparations
packing pieces, final fittings, moving racks, and making sure every last detail is ready before everything comes together.

After weeks of planning and hard work,
we finally get to share the final result with you tomorrow.

What started as a simple request
turned into something we didn’t expect.

Atelier V&A first reached out to borrow a few PaoPao pieces.
But after spending time together,
it felt like there was more we could do than just lend.

So we created something new.

Versatile Armour—
a piece shaped by both of us,
but still very much PaoPao.

Part of our Confidence Armour collaborations.

Launching this May at Boutiques,

Most people see the final piece.
Very few see what it takes to get there.

A small glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes.

Sourcing isn’t just picking what looks nice —
it’s curating, deliberating, negotiating, planning… and making countless decisions along the way.

Every fabric, every trim, every detail is chosen with intention.
What I choose here shapes everything that follows.

It may not be the most visible part of the process,
but it’s where the foundation is built.

All of this — the effort, the time, the quiet work —
to bring you a PaoPao piece that feels considered, effortless, and true.

Design doesn’t happen in isolation.

What we do in the industry shapes what’s taught in schools — and what students create today will shape what we see tomorrow.

Working with Temasek Poly on this brief was a way to stay connected to that loop.
To see how the next generation interprets modern oriental design and pushes it forward in their own way.

Some of these ideas may even make their way into real pieces — with credit where it’s due.

And unexpectedly, I also found my intern through this process.
A reminder that when you put good energy out, the right people find their way back.

Because good design shouldn’t stay in the classroom.
It should live, evolve, and be worn.
