Inspired by sustainability and femininity, she keeps productions small within New Zealand, considering biologically friendly fabrics and creating her own bespoke women, printed materials. As an Artist, Model, Mother, Design School graduate and Entrepreneur already in her repertoire, the journey into Fashion Designer was a natural progression for Waitara-native Tessa Lont. Interweaving her Maori ancestry with modern silhouettes, she found the perfect juxtaposition to display her artistic talent. Passionate about time-honoured traditions, such as materials and sustainability and the practice thereof. Inspired by the promise of sustainability, the power of femininity, and cultural values. The fabrics are often hand-dyed with painted maori-inspired iconography which is tied to the brand’s tribal identity and history.
