Life is not always plain sailing and we try our best to find ways to keep our heads above the water
Sewing, especially scrappy sew-as-you-go pieces, keeps me grounded. I let my hands move with the machine and today's outcome is a patchwork wallet/clutch
Patchwork using scraps means no two pieces are ever alike, just like no two people nor situations are ever alike. We can only keep faith ❤

Your Own Unique Piece
Tried my hands on Needle Turn Applique, an applique technique in which the raw edge of applique pieces are turned under as the piece is being appliqued to the fabric base
Even though these "patches" are not of complex shapes, they certainly made this otherwise plain bag a one-of-a-kind arm candy

Upcyling / Recycling ♻️
This one-of-a-kind shoulder bag is made from recycled/upcycled components; the main body of the bag is made using a laundry powder packaging while the trimming and bag strap is taken from an old belt
Fully-lined, waterproof and may I add, smells awesome too!

I enjoy sewing 🧵
But at times, sewing also helps me to keep my mind focused so I think less about things that worry or stress me
Managed to sew a few more foldable eco shopping/book bags over the long weekend. Will be sewing more in the next couple of weeks for a good cause

🛍 Foldable eco tote bags are always useful (especially since more places are/will be charging for plastic bags). The multitude of colours and patterns made this project a happy sew
Simply unfold when you need extra space for your shopping, sports wear/gear, school/work files, books etc. When folded, they take up minimal space in your bag

Scrap Sew

Floral, Functional, Fun clear top boxy pouch
Another great scrap sew using a mix of patchwork (swipe to see the beautiful patchwork base) and vinyl, which I used to hold my wonder clips
