Culturally confident clothes that work with the climate rather than against it.

This made-to-order piece is designed to create the illusion of a separate top and skirt, while remaining a single effortless silhouette. Finished with mandarin buttons and crafted in lightweight fabrics chosen for our tropical weather, it carries a subtle Nanyang sensibility while remaining light enough for our climate.

As the days grow increasingly hot and humid, we are reminded that dressing beautifully in the tropics need not be complicated.

Good design should feel light, comfortable, and effortless — allowing elegance to become part of everyday life.

From intern, to designer, to now bashful bride. ❤️

6 years and counting.

We still remember when she first stepped into the atelier as a shy intern — quietly growing alongside us through the years, collection after collection.

Today, it feels especially meaningful to witness this new chapter of her life.

We are so happy to celebrate Yijing’s wedding, and even happier to gift a treasured Qipao from Fuchsia Lane, customised specially for her, in the most luminous shade of red that glows gently against her porcelain skin.

Elegant, timeless, and quietly radiant.

Congratulations once again — & Thank you for being part of our 20 year journey.

Wishing both of you a lifetime of love, bliss, and beautiful memories ahead.

Bamboos has long been a recurring presence in our designs. From sketch to stitch.

A study of bamboos translated into embroidery —
where line, texture, and movement slowly take form by hand.

At Fuchsia Lane, we often begin with research, references and drawings before they become garments.

Not simply decoration, but a process of interpretation —
transforming familiar cultural motifs into something contemporary and wearable.

Part of our ongoing exploration into Nanyang fashion.

Sometimes, elegance is simply:
white cotton lace,
air against skin,
and Peranakan embroideries quietly moving with you.

Finished with slide slit details
adorned with lemongrass green floral buttons —
a quiet accent against frangipani white.

Designed for the tropics —
light enough for the heat,
refined enough for arrival.

A study in ease, restraint, and the poetry of dressing well in Southeast Asia.

Available to experience during our guided viewings for The Poetry of Form retrospective showcase.

Clothing is often seen.
But not always understood.

This is not another fashion showcase.
That’s why people stay longer than they expect.

Because we don’t just show pieces—
we walk through how an artwork is translated to embroidery, prints and form,
how proportion and balance make it work,
and how batik—done the same way—
takes on new life through unexpected Nanyang motifs like our pandas.

“The visit to your atelier was a wonderful experience and I learnt so much.
Your experiences and creativity kept me inspired with many ideas.”
— Carolyn Pang .carolyn
Assistant Director, Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre

and for her continued support of local creatives.

My mum hates Qipao collars.
Too restrictive for her.

She prefers comfort over style
and coverage for her arms.

I need something different —
pieces I can move and work in
while making an impression as a designer

So this is us.

She in a lavender French lace Qipao
lined with a cool-to-the-touch stretch lining,
paired with a bolero -
no collar.

Me in a black tweed piece with seamless collar,
high at the back, sloping forward (inspired by the mandarin collar),
with embroidered carps in motion.

Different ages
Different body shapes
Different needs.
All met in Fuchsia Lane.

Happy Mother’s Day!
