i’ve been quieter here. you know why. it’s funny how priorities shift so naturally.

i do feel a strong pull away from socials lately, but i keep getting this gentle urge to come here and express a few things.

i started building Brinas back in 2021, after quitting my well-paid job, not really knowing where it was going to go. i only knew i deserved to give the little girl inside of me a chance to express herself creatively. to experiment. to be her own boss like she always wanted.

and it’s been such a ride. so much personal growth, heart-warming people along the way, and projects i once only dreamt of creating. i look back at it all with so much gratitude — for the courage to embark on this journey and to make it my work. i remember thinking it would take me about 3 months to earn enough and live from my small business. silly me! little did i know it would take 4 years (or maybe even more). but wow, am i grateful i didn’t give up.

i feel so calm and full entering this new chapter of life. like the little girl who once felt creatively blocked finally got her chance — and can now breathe, soften, and focus on family. i love that we live in a country that lets women spend a whole year with their baby. what a privilage! i’m so looking forward to this time. and also to whatever will emerge from this new, slow season.

if there was anyone here who got even a glimpse of inspiration — a glimpse of courage — from my story along the way… that is what matters most. that’s why i’ve been sharing it all. even the things that sometimes felt too vulnerable and raw.

i want to share my deep gratitude to you — for all your support throughout the year, especially these last months ❤️ thank you, thank you!

23.12. bomo tam od med 10-18h, 24. pa med 10-13h.

Pod Jelko lahko med drugim najdete tudi moje notebooke, meditacijske blazinice (z eno novo krasno recepturo 💜), pouche in peresnice. Prinesla sem tudi mini peresnice, ki so se posebej kjut.

Book Keepers are a leftover project — rescuing old tablecloths and sheets and giving them a new life as simple, multipurpose fabric bags.

They can serve as a book keeper (protecting your books from wrinkles and dirt when carried around inside a bigger bag), an underwear pouch, or whatever you feel they want to become.

They are dyed using leftover dye baths, allowing the last traces of color to gently unfold on the fabric.

Once, I received a message from Zvezdana from Iceland: “This dress looks as if it was born here.”

And it’s true. Most of my recipes feel like they’ve risen straight from the wild — shaped by raw landscapes, tough weather, and the quiet strength of majestic nature.

She sent me a white COS linen dress, and I brought it to life with the Lava Blush recipe — upcycling can turn the clothes we already own into a signature piece.

Because the most sustainable clothes are the ones we already have, upcycling has been at the heart of my work from the very beginning.

December is, without a doubt, the most important month for most of us small business owners.
But this year, time is beginning to slow down for me. With the baby arriving at the beginning of February, I feel the pull to rest and nest more deeply. I won’t be able to keep up with the usual December tempo.

So, a few things I wanted to share:

* I deeply appreciate your support and orders — especially at this moment in my life. ❤️

* I’ll be including a hand-dyed card, a furoshiki wrapping cloth or a fabric bag as a small GIFT with every order.

* Although it looked like the Ember fabric was completely sold out, I managed to get 12 more meters directly from the maker — which means I can take a final few custom orders for tops and dresses.

* Notebook stock is now below 10 pieces, and they won’t be restocked before the New Year.

* I’ve updated the webshop with the last kimono pieces. If you’ve been thinking of gifting yourself one for the holidays, have to look.
