RESPONSE TO ALLEGATIONS MADE AGAINST THE MINISTER HON.SANTINO BOL AKOK
This afternoon, I came across a video by Akech Garang Nyudhi in which he alleged that he bribed Hon. Minister Santino Bol Akok with two cows and 200,000 SSP to be appointed as Commissioner of Aweil Centre County.
First and foremost, I would like to set the record straight on his identity.
The person in the video is not called Ayaga Udom Ungom. His real name is Akech Garang Nyudhi from Achana, Aweil West, of the Thuri clan. He is my maternal uncle and my mother’s first cousin. His uncle is Mabuoch Nyudhi. Some readers from Achana will know him, as well as Maduok Thuri, who is related to Dut Muorwel. Dut Muorwel’s mother is from Thuri, and he is currently in Marial Bai. Anyone seeking more information about Akech may contact Dut Muorwel.
Therefore, the said Ayaga Udom Ungom is actually Akech Garang Nyudhi from Thuri, not from Paweer. In addition, he is from Achana, not Aroyo.
Akech served as a close bodyguard to the late Lt. Gen. James Ajonga Mawut Unguech. The General met him in the army. The fact that he is Luo does not mean he is from Aweil Centre, the paramount of Achana Payam Sultan Ayaga Ayaga is a Luo of Aweil West county. So, Not all Luos come from Aweil Centre. Besides serving as the late Ajonga’s bodyguard also does not place him in Aweil Centre. Unless maybe he just move to Aroyo recent in 2020s
Between 2015 and 2017, his family lived in Marial Bai, in the Gung-ger area, the same area as his nephew Dut Muorwel. I personally visited their home during that time.
On the issue of bribery:
The allegation is completely false. This individual is only trying to tarnish the image and reputation of Hon. Santino Bol Akok. I strongly condemn these allegations.
Him saying that Santino Bol Akok threatened him and he asked why missed out on appointment
Akech’s claim that he was threatened by Hon. Santino Bol Akok after asking why he was not appointed is a lie.
The Minister was not bribed by anyone, because he secured his current position through lobbying. How can a lobbyist lobby for someone else when he has not even secured his own position?
Hon. Santino Bol Akok was not in government at the time. Some people are taking advantage of the fact that he comes from Ayat Tueng, the same area as H.E. the Governor. Because he is close to the Governor, his enemies are trying to use him to tarnish his reputation.
In time, the truth will prevail, and it will be confirmed that Akech Garang Nyudhi was sent by those who want to destroy Hon. Minister Santino Bol Akok.
Finally, I call upon the public to disregard these baseless allegations made against the Minister.
