โดยใช้นิ้วเกี่ยวด้ายเส้นยืนขึ้นแล้วสอดไหมเส้นพิเศษสีต่างๆไปตามแนวเส้นพุ่ง
เพื่อให้ได้ลวดลายต่าง ๆ ซึ่งเรียกได้ว่าเป็นการปักผ้าลงไปในขณะทอ โดยการทอจะทอจากด้านหลังผ้า เพราะต้องดึงเส้นไหมให้ตึงและผูกปมเก็บเส้นไหมให้เรียบร้อย
Phu Thai people in Kalasin province have tradition of weaving intricate design silk shawl called Prea Wa by using discontinuous supplementary weft or jok technique. The supplementary silk yarns are place in the web of
the plain weave by picking out each warp yarn by hand and palling the supplementary yarn through them in specific areas. Different colors of silk yarn can be placed into the design across the width of the fabric. The process is done with the back of fabric facing upwards which allows for very neat finishing.
