Located in the heart of Bangkok, Kapra Fabrics a.k.a Phorthep Textile has been family owned and operated since 1938. As of late, current CEO Jai Sachdev has been traveling to mills all over the world in order to expand the company's horizons and increase the variety of goods to be offered. As a close member of select textile communities around the world, Kapra's connections are diverse and unique. From Garment manufacturers, to functional textile chemical factories, the possibilities are endless. For those who love the world of tailoring, a .a.caraceni suit represents the highest expression of sartorial craftsmanship.

I’m fortunate enough to own several Caraceni suits, yet every time the feeling is the same. Walking into the atelier for a fitting feels like experiencing my very first suit all over again. Watching a fabric selected from a bolt gradually take shape and transform into a true work of art never ceases to amaze me.

For this suit, I decided to fulfill a wish I had for quite some time: a double-breasted cotton suit inspired by a photograph of Sergio Loro Piana, a client and friend of the Caraceni family, hanging in the fitting room that always catches my eye whenever I visit.

For the fabric, I chose a beautiful 215g cotton from , which felt perfect for bringing this idea to life.

But for me, the most rewarding part is always the time spent in the atelier listening to Carlo’s stories. Once again, he surprised me by showing me original sketches that Karl Lagerfeld used to send to Mario Caraceni, illustrating exactly how he wanted his garments to be made.

These are stories of immeasurable value. They preserve the memory, culture, and identity of the finest traditions of Italian tailoring.
