The Lion and The Ass

The Goat and The Wolf
A Wolf was pursuing a Goat that had strayed from the flock.
The Goat, seeing the Wolf gaining on her, quickly ran up a high,
steep cliff where the Wolf could not follow.
The Wolf stopped at the foot of the cliff, looking up at the Goat who was now safe.
He realized he could not reach her, but he didn't want to give up easily.
He decided to try trickery instead.
The Wolf called up to the Goat,
"Why do you stay up there on those dangerous rocks?
It's so uncomfortable!
Come down here onto this lovely, smooth meadow.
The grass is much greener and sweeter, and the ground is soft and safe.
Don't risk a fall!"
The Goat, looking down from her safe perch,
was not fooled by the Wolf's tempting words.
She replied,
"I know exactly why you invite me down, Mr. Wolf.
You are not interested in my comfort or my safety, but in your dinner!
I am much happier to stay up here where the grass may not be as good,
but the company is certainly better."
And the Wolf, frustrated and defeated, eventually slunk away,
leaving the wise Goat unharmed.
The moral of this story is:
Safety is often more important than comfort.
Never trust the advice of an enemy,
even when it seems kindly meant.
When an enemy offers advice,
their motive is for their own benefit, not yours.

The Crow and The Peacock

Once upon a time, there lived a plain black Crow who felt deeply envious of the glorious Peacock. The Peacock's feathers shimmered with all the colors of the rainbow, making him the most admired bird in the forest.

The Ant and The Grasshopper

It was a beautiful summer day. A Grasshopper was chirping, singing, and dancing merrily in a field. He saw an Ant busily hauling a grain of corn, struggle up a slight incline to carry it to the nest.

The Hare and The Mouse

A boastful Hare once met a tiny Mouse near the edge of a forest. The Hare, known for his incredible speed, looked down at the slow, scurrying Mouse with contempt.

The Eagle and The Crow

An Eagle was soaring high in the air when it spotted a young Lamb grazing in a field below. With a sudden dive, the Eagle swooped down, seized the Lamb in its powerful talons, and carried it off to its nest on a high cliff.

The Hare and The Tortoise

A boastful Hare often mocked the slow-moving Tortoise. One day, the Tortoise, tired of the Hare's ridicule, challenged him to a race.

The confident Hare settled down by the side of the road and soon fell fast asleep.

When the Hare finally woke up, he stretched and yawned, expecting the Tortoise to still be miles away. He quickly scanned the road and was horrified to see the Tortoise crossing the finish line!

The Shepherd Boy and The Wolf
เด็กเลี้ยงแกะกับหมาป่า
In a small village near a large forest, there lived a shepherd boy whose job it was to watch over the village's sheep. He often grew bored sitting alone on the hillside.
ณ หมู่บ้านเล็กๆ แห่งหนึ่งใกล้ป่าใหญ่ มีเด็กเลี้ยงแกะคนหนึ่งซึ่งมีหน้าที่ดูแลฝูงแกะของชาวบ้าน เด็กคนนี้มักจะเบื่อหน่ายที่ต้องนั่งอยู่คนเดียวบนเนินเขา
One day, to amuse himself and get some attention, he ran down to the village shouting, "Wolf! Wolf!" The villagers immediately dropped their tools and rushed up the hill to help him, but when they got there, they found no wolf. The boy simply laughed at their efforts.

The Wild Goose and The Crane
ห่านป่ากับนกกระเรียน
In a meadow near a large lake, a flock of Geese and a group of Cranes were feeding together. The Geese, being large and heavy from eating so much, waddled about happily, focused only on the plentiful food. The Cranes, on the other hand, were tall, light-bodied, and constantly alert, moving gracefully while keeping a watchful eye on their surroundings.

One day, a Hunter came upon the field, carrying a net. The moment the Cranes saw the figure, they gave a sharp cry of warning and immediately took to the air. Their light bodies allowed them to take flight instantly and soar safely out of reach, leaving the meadow far behind.
อยู่มาวันหนึ่ง นายพรานคนหนึ่งได้เข้ามาในทุ่งพร้อมกับตาข่าย ทันทีที่นกกระเรียนเห็นร่างของนายพราน มันก็ส่งเสียงร้องเตือนและรีบบินขึ้นฟ้าทันที ด้วยร่างกายที่เบาบางทำให้พวกมันบินหนีได้อย่างรวดเร็วและลอยสูงจนพ้นจากอันตรายไปได้อย่างปลอดภัย
The Geese, however, were too heavy and too preoccupied with their meal. They struggled to lift their bodies, flapping their wings laboriously and with great difficulty. As they slowly attempted to ascend, the Hunter easily cast his net and captured the entire flock of heavy, slow-moving Geese.

The Bear and The Bees
หมีกับผึ้ง
A Bear, roaming the woods in search of berries, came upon a fallen tree in which a swarm of Bees had stored their honey. The Bear began to sniff around the log very carefully to find out if the Bees were at home. Just then, one of the Bees came home from the clover field. Guessing what the Bear was after, the Bee flew at him, stung him sharply on the nose, and then disappeared into the hollow log.
หมีตัวหนึ่งออกเดินไปในป่าเพื่อหาผลไม้กิน พลันไปพบต้นไม้ที่ล้มอยู่ ซึ่งมีรังผึ้งทำน้ำผึ้งเก็บไว้ หมีจึงเริ่มดมไปรอบๆ ท่อนไม้อย่างระมัดระวัง เพื่อดูว่ามีผึ้งอยู่ข้างในหรือไม่ ทันใดนั้น ผึ้งตัวหนึ่งที่เพิ่งบินกลับมาจากทุ่งดอกไม้ได้บินเข้ามา เมื่อเดาได้ว่าหมีต้องการอะไร มันก็พุ่งเข้าต่อยเข้าที่จมูกของหมีอย่างรุนแรง แล้วก็หายเข้าไปในโพรงไม้

It is wiser to bear a single injury in silence than to provoke a thousand by flying into a rage.
(Another common moral: A hot temper always gets you into trouble.)
