The Life of Common People | Solo Exhibition by Juno's Jungle

"Lokiyawat — Everyday life. The lives of ordinary people. The daily rhythms of living, thinking, acting, and feeling. From day to day, people move through the same routines—eating, sleeping, working, taking care of themselves — along with everything else they need to get by and maybe find some kind of meaning.

These routines may look different from person to person, shaped by culture, society, and several other factors, but they share the same goals : to survive, to grow, and to find moments of happiness each day. These lives have many forms, from simple to complex—urban and rural, rich and poor, children and adults—each with their own character. Daily routines are also filled with objects : chemicals and compounds, packaging, perfumes, medicines, clothing, and ordinary household objects — seasoning bottles, skincare serum sachets, toothpaste tubes, hair ties, etc., all of them quietly transforming into waste through acts of everyday consumption.

Everyday life—Lokiyawat—creates mountains of refuse in the aim of fulfilling human desires. If we don’t stop to think before we use, our world, drowning in waste, will have no one left to depend on....not even FRED". — Juno's Jungle

โลกียวัตร -
ความเป็นไปของสามัญชน คือชีวิตประจําวัน
การดํารงชีวิตความคิดการกระทําและความรู้สึกของผู้คนในแต่ละวัน
ผู้คนมีกิจวัตรพื้นฐานคล้ายคลึงกันเช่น การกิน การนอน การทํางาน การดูแลตัวเอง โดยอาจมีรูปแบบแตกต่างกันไปตามแต่ละบุคคล ภูมิวัฒนธรรม(วัฒนภูมิ) สังคม รวมไปถึงกิจกรรมที่ต้องทําเพื่อให้ชีวิตดําเนินต่ออย่างปกติสุขและมีคุณภาพ และปัจจัยอื่นๆ แต่ล้วนมีเป้าหมายเพื่อการอยู่รอดการเติบโตและการมีความสุขในแต่ละวัน ซึ่งมีหลากหลายรูปแบบแตกต่างกันออกไป ตั้งแต่เรียบง่ายจนถึงซับซ้อน คนในเมือง คนชนบทคนรวย คนจน เด็กและผู้ใหญ่ ย่อมแตกต่างกันออกไป

กิจวัตรนั้นอาจประกอบไปด้วยสิ่งเคมีภัณฑ์ บรรจุภัณฑ์ สารประกอบ น้ําหอม ยา เสื้อผ้า ข้าวของเครื่องใช้พื้นฐาน ขวดเครื่องปรุง ซองเซรั่มบํารุงผิว หลอดยาสีฟัน ยางรัดผม เป็นต้น ล้วนแล้วแต่เป็นที่มาของขยะจากการ อุปโภคบริโภค

Everyday Life หรือโลกิยวัตรของมนุษย์สร้างสิ่งปฏิกูลมากมายเพื่อ ปรนเปรอมนุษย์ หากไม่คิดก่อนใช้ ขยะล้นโลกคงหวังพึ่งใครไม่ได้..แม้แต่ FRED — Juno's Jungle

" In a city where everything moves faster than memory can hold, everyday objects have become the new archaeological evidence of our time. Discarded plastic bottles, abandoned Styrofoam, and fading scraps of paper are transformed into totems of a modern belief system silent witnesses to a civilization that creates, consumes, and forgets.

"Ancient Civilization in Town", a sci-fi–inspired exhibition, explores the imagined landscape of a post-industrial world, where material remnants evolve into a new visual language, where trash becomes a prophecy of what lies ahead, and where humans rediscover the sense of the sacred hidden within overlooked and forgotten objects.

Featuring works by Long-practicing local artists, the exhibition continues an ongoing dialogue between memory, environment, and belief in an age shaped by technology and rapid change. It is akin to excavating an “ancient city of the future,” still pulsing beneath the surface of the modern metropolis.

This exhibition is more than an art showcase.
It poses a question that is both intimate and universal.
In a world where objects outlast the people who made them,
what will these remnants say about us?
And what kind of civilization will we be remembered as? "

Amorn Sethitorn is a seasoned local artist whose practice uniquely weaves together traditional wisdom, contemporary culture, and remnants of industrial materials. His artistic trajectory spans formal art education, years of work within state structures, and a lifelong engagement with everyday objects that quietly record the social history of their time.

Amorn graduated from Silpakorn University, where he built his foundation in form, material, and aesthetic inquiry. He later continued his studies at Visva-Bharati University (Santiniketan), India, an institution rooted in an open, borderless approach to learning and in the intertwined relationships between humans, nature, and art. This expansive worldview has shaped the core of his artistic philosophy ever since.

After returning to Thailand, Amorn worked for many years as an art specialist at the Northern Industrial Promotion Center in Chiang Mai. This period immersed him in the material lands

“บ้านคลังสมบัติของลุงอมร” ทำให้เราเริ่มเข้าใจบางอย่างที่ไม่ต้องใช้ตำราศิลปะเล่มไหนก็เข้าถึงได้
คือ… ของทุกชิ้นมีชีวิตของมันเอง
แม้จะเกิดจากการ “แถมมา” หรือถูกวางทิ้งไว้หลังบ้านก็ตาม
•
ในสตูดิโอที่เต็มไปด้วยชั้นวางของ โลกของลุงอมรเหมือนห้องเรียนเงียบ ๆ
ที่สอนให้เราเห็นว่า
สิ่งที่ไร้ค่าในมือหนึ่ง อาจเป็น “ขุมทรัพย์” ในมือของอีกคน
และการเพิ่มคุณค่าให้สิ่งธรรมดา ก็เหมือนการดูแลหัวใจตัวเองในวันที่เหนื่อยล้า

วันนั้นลุงอมรเล่าอะไรสักอย่างให้ฟัง
ฟังไปฟังมา เหมือนโดนเปิดประตูอีกห้องในหัว
คล้ายถูก “คายตะขาบแห่งความคิด” ให้เห็นสิ่งเดิมที่ไม่เหมือนเดิมอีกต่อไป
ฟอมที่อยู่ได้เป็นพันปี กระดาษที่อายุยืนเหมือนประวัติศาสตร์
มันไม่ใช่แค่เรื่องวัสดุ แต่มันคือเรื่องเวลา เรื่องมนุษย์ เรื่องการอยู่รอด

และพอเราออกจากสตูดิโอ เสียงอะไรบางอย่างก็ยังดังอยู่ในหัว
เหมือนคำบอกเล่าแบบพ่อแบบลุงที่อยากให้เรามองโลกให้กว้างขึ้นอีกนิด
อ่อนลงอีกหน่อย
และเห็นค่าของ “สิ่งที่ยังรอให้เราเลือกมองใหม่”

เร็ว ๆ นี้
เราจะได้เจอ “โลกที่คุ้นเคย…แต่ไม่เหมือนเดิม”

โครงการศรีดอนชัยใช้สร้างสรรค์ มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง ได้รับทุนเพื่อดำเนินการจากโครงการพัฒนาต้นแบบพื้นที่สร้างสรรค์ (Creative Cultural District) ในการดำเนินงาน
โครงการศรีดอนชัยใช้สร้างสรรค์ดำเนินกิจกรรมศิลปินในพำนัก Artist Residency Program โดยเริ่มกิจกรรมมาตั้งแต่ 30 กันยายน 2568 เป็นกิจกรรมที่ 1 โดยจะสิ้นสุดในวันที่ 2 พฤษจิกายน 2568
กิจกรรม ที่ 2 เป็นการจัดกิจกรรมศิลปะกับการมีส่วนร่วมของชุมชน ในชื่อ Zodiac in the House of Displacement : ระเหิดลัด พลัดเคลื่อน เลื่อนกายกาล ซึ่งศิลปินได้นำผลงานชุดที่ 1 (ในจำนวน 3 ชุด) เป็นผลลงานที่ทำงานร่วมกับชุมชนในพื้นที่มาร่วมจัดแสดงในขบวนงานประเพณีจุลกฐินในขบวนแห่พระอุปคุตจากแม่น้ำอิง ในวันที่ 31 ตุลาคม 2568 เวลา 14.00-17.00 และต่อด้วยกิจกรรมเสวนาศิลปะร่วมสมัยกับการขับเคลื่อนพื้นที่วัฒนธรรมสร้างสรรค์ ณ พิพิธภัณฑ์ลื้อลายคำ ในเวลา 17.30-19.00..................................................
