What a wonderful memory! Thank you for the lovely feature and for bringing back the charm of Walking Street in 1986. We at King’s Tailor are proud to have been part of that special era — serving our valued customers with handcrafted, custom-made suits since 1975.
Back then, our little shop on Walking Street was known for quality, attention to detail, and personalized service — values we still carry with us today.
We've since moved to 2nd Road, right next to Central Festival Mall (between Soi 8 & 9), where we continue to create suits with passion, precision, and pride.
Decades may pass, but our promise remains the same: delivering elegance, one suit at a time. 👔✂
Daytime Walking Street Pattaya 1986 – A Step Back in Time 🌴🕰️
Back in 1986, Walking Street in South Pattaya looked like a quiet, charming corridor rather than the bustling nightlife hotspot it would later become. During the daytime, the street exuded a calm, welcoming atmosphere, filled with local character and everyday life. On the left side, the legendary Lobster Pot offered fresh seafood delights 🍤🦞, becoming a favorite for both locals and early travelers. Just a few doors down, Lee Gallery displayed local art 🎨, giving visitors a peek into Pattaya’s creative scene, a true cultural gem amidst the growing town.
On the right side, King’s Tailor attracted attention with its meticulous craftsmanship 👔✂️, known for producing high-quality, custom-made suits. Patrons often spent hours discussing fabrics and designs, enjoying a personalized shopping experience that modern tourists rarely see today. The street was lined with small shops, cafés, and boutiques that carried the charm of old Pattaya, far removed from the neon lights and party atmosphere that would later define it.
Walking Street in 1986 captured a time when the city was slowly awakening to tourism but still retained its authentic Thai essence 🌺🏖️. Visitors wandered leisurely, enjoying the blend of local culture, food, and artistry. Every corner told a story, from hand-painted signs to the laughter of locals sharing their day-to-day lives.
This was a Pattaya before the neon boom 🌟, before international crowds, and before Walking Street became synonymous with nightlife. It was a street that reflected the heart of the city: vibrant, authentic, and full of life, yet comfortably slow-paced. A glimpse into this era reveals how much Pattaya has transformed, while still holding onto the echoes of its past.
