Summary of the Armed Clashes Along the Thai-Cambodian Border
Military Engagements
At 08:20 hrs, Cambodian forces initiated hostilities opposite the “Moo Pa” base.
Thai forces responded, targeting Prasat Don Tuan; two Cambodian tanks were destroyed.
Cambodia launched BM-21 rockets into Kantharalak District.
At the Preah Vihear area, fighting extended from Wat Kaew Sikka Khiri Sawan to Phu Makuea.
In the Chong Chom area, Cambodian troops opened fire on civilians.
At Ta Muen Thom temple, Cambodian forces launched attacks against Thai military positions and civilians.
Humanitarian Assistance
Civilians in eight areas were evacuated: Ban Kruat District (Buriram), Phanom D**g Rak, Kap Choeng, Sangkha (Surin), Kantharalak (Sisaket), Nam Khun, Nam Yuen, and Ta Pha Mon (Ubon Ratchathani).
Evacuation proceeded according to pre-established contingency plans. Field kitchens have been deployed to provide food and essential support.
Damage Report
A total of 11 locations across Surin, Sisaket, Ubon Ratchathani, and Buriram Provinces sustained damage.
32 civilians have been affected, including 20 injured and 12 fatalities.
Call for Restraint
Cambodia’s deliberate attacks on civilian areas constitute a clear violation of humanitarian norms.
The Second Army Region urges an immediate end to such actions in accordance with international humanitarian law.
Thailand remains committed to the rule of law and universal humanitarian principles—but will not tolerate any violations of its sovereignty or threats to its national dignity.
