Trinidad-born designer Geoff Cooper, the creative force behind the brand Sagaboi, has been nominated for Menswear Designer of the Year at the London Fashion Awards.

Cooper, who hails from Moruga and is celebrating his birthday today, shared the news on social media, describing the nomination as “a quiet affirmation” of years of discipline and dedication to his craft.

He reflected on building his brand with purpose, rooted in heritage and storytelling, adding that the recognition felt like a birthday gift. Sagaboi, named in tribute to men of colour who dare to fully imagine themselves, has steadily earned international attention for its refined tailoring and cultural depth.

Cooper also congratulated his fellow nominees and thanked the London Fashion Council, Creativeth and the jury for the honour, noting that while the moment is significant, there is still more work to be done.
