這是一個概念映射,不是地質學上的等同關係。

《十億年的地層消失資料》回望地球失去的記錄;《出林記》追問人類如何從生命史走進文明史;PCS 則嘗試把今天仍在生成的地球、太空、環境與文明觀測,放進可以探索、比較與檢驗的共同脈絡。

我們無法補回所有消失的十億年,但可以決定今天留下什麼樣的資料、方法與責任。

Earth’s unconformities record non-deposition, erosion, and geological reworking. Civilisation’s “unconformities” may emerge through war, data monopolies, obsolete formats, institutional collapse, or our failure to organise fragmented information into a shared and understandable memory.

This is a conceptual analogy, not a geological equivalence.

The Missing Billion Years of Strata looks back at records Earth has lost. Out of the Forest asks how life entered human history and civilisation. PCS seeks to place today’s Earth, space, environmental, and civilisational observations into a shared context for exploration, comparison, and testing.

We cannot recover every missing billion years, but we can decide what data, methods, and responsibilities we leave behind today.

地層不是一本從第一頁保存到最後一頁的完整日記。它至少會用四種方式缺頁:沒有沉積;風、水、冰與重力造成侵蝕;高溫高壓引發變質或熔融;古老海洋地殼隨板塊俯衝回到地球內部。

因此,科學家重建地球史時,面對的不只是「讀出已有資料」,還要辨認哪些頁面從未形成、哪些曾經存在卻已被改寫。

《十億年的地層消失資料》想帶讀者理解的,不只是十億年的空白,更是科學如何在不完整證據中保持誠實。

The rock record is not a diary preserved from its first page to its last. It can lose pages in at least four ways: no deposition, erosion by wind and water, metamorphism or melting under heat and pressure, and the subduction of ancient oceanic crust back into Earth’s interior.

Reconstructing Earth history therefore involves more than reading the evidence that remains. Scientists must also identify pages that never formed and pages that once existed but were later rewritten.

The Missing Billion Years of Strata is not only about a vast gap in time. It is about how science remains honest when the evidence is incomplete.

In parts of the Grand Canyon region, much younger strata rest directly on extremely ancient rocks. The missing interval can approach one billion years. This boundary is known as the Great Unconformity.

The gap may represent long periods without deposition, or rock layers that were uplifted and later eroded. Matter did not vanish, but its original order, fossils, and environmental signals may have been dispersed, making the full story difficult to reconstruct.

The Missing Billion Years of Strata explores how Earth preserves memory—and how that memory is lost.

Rocks do not lie, but they cannot write the missing pages for us.

在沒有印刷、雲端與搜尋引擎的年代,人類如何讓重要知識活過幾百年?答案之一,是把知識寫成容易記憶、誦讀與傳承的故事、戒律、儀式與經文。

《出林記》提出一種閱讀視角:古代經文也可以被看成當時的「知識壓縮格式」,其中可能保存天文、農時、衛生、災變記憶、社會秩序與倫理規範。

這不表示所有神話都能被還原成單一科學事件,也不表示宗教只等於教科書。它是一個跨越歷史、文學與知識傳播的詮釋框架。

去神祕化,不是抹去古人的智慧;而是把他們重新放回當時的世界。

Before printing, cloud storage, and search engines, how could important knowledge survive for centuries? One answer was to encode it in memorable stories, rules, rituals, and sacred texts.

Out of the Forest offers a reading perspective: ancient scriptures may also be understood as forms of “knowledge compression,” preserving elements of astronomy, agriculture, health, disaster memory, social order, and ethics.

This does not mean every myth can be reduced to one scientific event, or that religion is nothing more than a textbook. It is an interpretive framework across history, literature, and knowledge transmission.

Demystifying the past does not erase ancient wisdom. It places that wisdom back in its historical world.

《出林記》從宇宙誕生寫到人類文明,以現代科學作為敘事骨幹,再用「森林」作為反覆出現的文學母題:森林既是生命的起點,也是人類尚未理解自身時的隱喻。

這本書真正想問的不是「我們發明了什麼」,而是:我們是否已經學會回望孕育自己的地球?

We left the canopy, learned to walk upright, use fire, make tools, and preserve language. Later we built cities, empires, religions, sciences, and global networks.

But if “leaving the forest” only means becoming more technologically powerful, where do war, resource extraction, information disorder, and environmental destruction belong in the story of civilisation?

Out of the Forest traces a path from the birth of the universe to human civilisation. Modern science forms its narrative backbone, while the forest returns as a literary motif: both the origin of life and a metaphor for humanity before it learns to understand itself.

The book asks not only what we have invented, but whether we have learned to look back at the planet that made us possible.

In PCS, L is defined as a dimensionless irreversible-residual state bounded between 0 and 1. It seeks to organise five observable domains: thermal, flow, chemical, informational, and structural residuals.

PCS uses the core relation `A⊕ = A₀(1 − L)` to represent declining effective energy available for recovery and regulation as residuals accumulate.

This is a testable state relation within an effective theory—not an established fundamental law of thermodynamics. The real research questions remain: how observations are normalised, how weights are chosen, how uncertainty is reported, and whether data can falsify the model.

Science is not complete when a formula is written. A formula makes the question inspectable.

The WMO’s 2026 global climate report confirmed that 2015–2025 were the eleven warmest years on record. The 2025 global mean temperature was about 1.43°C above the 1850–1900 average. Extreme heat, heavy rainfall, and tropical cyclones affect far more than weather: they disrupt health, food, energy, transport, and cities.

Satellites, balloons, ocean buoys, and ground stations generate enormous amounts of data. When those observations remain fragmented, we may see individual events without seeing their relationships.

PCS Observatory seeks to place open scientific observations into a shared visual context. It is an evolving independent research prototype—not a replacement for scientific institutions and not a system that claims to predict the future.

能源安全不能只問「還有多少油、多少電」,還要問:來源是否過度集中?關鍵節點中斷時有沒有替代路徑?價格衝擊會先落到誰身上?系統需要多久才能恢復?

An energy system is never a single pipeline. Production sites, shipping routes, refineries, power grids, fertiliser, transport, and daily life are tightly connected. United Nations analysis in 2026 described a major energy supply shock linked to conflict in the Middle East and exposed the limited flexibility of global supply chains.

Energy security is not only about how much oil or electricity remains. We must also ask whether supply is over-concentrated, whether alternative routes exist, who absorbs the first price shock, and how long recovery takes.

In PCS terms, this is a conceptual mapping across flow, structure, information, and thermal burdens. It is an analytical direction to be tested with data—not a completed causal proof.
