Built from the New Balance MT10T,
the “Sashiko TABI” is not simply a transformation into a split-toe shoe.
It is a reconstruction of movement, material, and culture.
Traditional Sashiko stitching was reinterpreted through layered fabric panels and hand-finished details, allowing each section of the shoe to carry traces of repair, reinforcement, and wear.
Not as decoration, but as a continuation of purpose.
The TABI split-toe structure reflects a long-standing Eastern understanding of balance and connection to the ground, while the original barefoot trail sole of the MT10T preserves its natural low-profile movement and off-road functionality.
Two completely different philosophies, stitched into one form.
Heritage craft.
Modern performance.
Trail roots reworked through the Rifare Co. perspective.
These shoes are not an official collaboration with the New Balance brand. They were made as pure artistic expression
