有這個想法已經很久了，做這些影片的目的是想解開客戶一直以來重覆問的問題，也讓新手了解我本人從事彩寶11年的觀點 ( 不構成投資建議XD)

“My Wife Says Young People Only Like Small but Special Gems…” 💎😂

(Does that make me old already? 🤔)

So recently, I went all-in on a suicidal cut—400+ facets carved onto a 5.9mm pink tourmaline. Half of them are frosted facets. Difficulty level? Absolute hell mode. 🔥😅

Mounted on an 18k gold chain, the pendant turned out looking super feminine and youthful. 💕

Now the only thing I’m hoping for… is that my wife actually likes this blood-and-sweat-made gift. 😂😂😂

Back in my high school days in Hong Kong, Christmas was always spent with a group of classmates. It was Hong Kong’s golden era—glittering and extravagant. We strutted around like we were heading to the Oscars, dressed head to toe in branded clothes endorsed by celebrities. 😂

We talked nonsense for hours, as if we were pouring out a lifetime of stories in just one night. The lights along Victoria Harbour in Tsim Sha Tsui were so bright they almost blinded us. Everyone was smiling, even the kids who picked silly fights with the police—who laughed and joked back. Was it childish then, or are we just too serious now?

The older I get, the more I want to relive that youthful chaos—spending one wild night with friends or a loved one, then coming home to a bowl of soup made by mom, handing her gifts with a smile. That’s Christmas to me. 🎄💝

Today’s patient: Peridot 🌿—named for its signature yellow-green hue. The richer the green, the higher the value. But remember: cut quality and clarity also play a big role in pricing.

🔺 Issue: Light leakage from the pavilion
🔺 Treatment: Applied a frosted finish to the pavilion facets, redirecting the visible leakage

By using this frosting technique, I could shift the focus of the leakage without sacrificing much weight ⚖️. The result? The gem now shows more balanced brilliance and looks far more appealing overall.

For stones where you don’t want to lose too much carat weight but still want to improve appearance, frosting can be a high-CP solution 😎✌️.

As cutters, we spend our days doing the same tasks over and over—just like anyone else at their job, staying focused and getting things done. But in the middle of routine, don’t we all look for little sparks of joy? ✨

When I lose the motivation to polish standard cuts, I go back to the sketches I’ve drawn over the years. I’ll brew some tea 🍵, play a few songs 🎶, and let myself finish a creation.

This is how the idea for my “Snowflake Cut” was born—by request from clients and fellow cutters.
It’s 100% original: no gimmicks, just playing with light, shadow, brilliance, and frosted textures to project the image of a snowflake. ❄️

With Christmas around the corner 🎄, I hope this design can spark your imagination of the season—through the eyes of a gemstone. 💎✨

Finding the Right Teammates Matters More Than Money 💎✨

It’s been over three years, and I’m so grateful to be surrounded by mentors and friends who’ve supported me on this journey—that’s how Gemstone Clinic came to be. 🙌

You might ask me: “Why do you repair gems?”
The first answer is simple: to make a living.
But the deeper reason? I love seeing people smile.

At the end of the day, a gem is just a piece of inorganic material—a stone. What gives it meaning is the fire, color, and beauty that bring joy to people. Every time we finish a stone that comes out sparkling, everyone in the studio stops what they’re doing and gathers around to admire it—like we just struck gold. ✨

When our jewelry designers finish a new creation, we celebrate together, circling around with excitement. Because these aren’t just products—they’re ours. From cutting the stone to the final design, we do it all by hand. Cold stone and gold can truly carry warmth. 💖

I naively hope this industry doesn’t become all about price wars and copycats. Collaboration is always more meaningful than competition. Each of us has our own will, our own soul—and in every piece we make, there’s a part of us inside.

Today’s patient: a Tsavorite garnet—often called the “second green gem.” With its high refractive index, it has the power to show off incredible brilliance and fire. 🌟

But this poor gem came in with a badly worn table and abraded facet edges. Its sparkle was completely gone. 😢

After some careful treatment, the tsavorite is shining again—showing off the vibrant green and fiery brilliance it was meant to have! 🍃✨

Blue-Green Sapphire Makeover 💎✨

In the past two years, blue-green sapphires have become some of the most sought-after gems. Even a 3-carat stone can fetch a serious price 💰.

This one finished at 3.5 carats after recutting—don’t ask, it’s already sold to a VIP 😂. Let’s just enjoy the photos! 📸

Before, the parti sapphire had poor fire because of its original cut. Over the Mid-Autumn Festival 🌕, I decided to give it a facelift—and now it shines so much brighter.

On a side note… I recently renamed the page to Gemstone Clinic. But one of my sisters joked it should really be called Gemstone Aesthetics 💉💎—and honestly, I think she’s right. Guess I might need to change the name again 😂.
