Women supporting women // This is Mwana, the incredibly talented fashion designer and organizer who is now the Secretary in charge of our newly born Tanzanian company 🙌🏻

We met her one year ago at , where she was studying fashion design after a completely different set of studies.
We started working together on Endelea Home Decor collection, but little by little she became one of the most precious resources for much more than just table mats.
She’s the most precise seamstress we ever worked with, and an extremely efficient “people manager”.

When we asked her why she chose to work with fashion, she told us “I have always been fascinated by clothes — I remember when my mom brought a kitenge home, I was always the first to get it and hide it in my closet, so that my sisters couldn’t find it. I think it’s very interesting to see how different countries have a variety of different styles and designs, and I love the potential that lies in combining them.”

Her fashion brand CaraMia was born this year and it’s getting a lot of attention from the music and fashion system in Dar es Salaam, which makes us very happy and proud of the professional she’s becoming.
