On September 14, 1837, Lewis Tiffany and John Young opened their first store on New York's central shopping street, Broadway, calling it Tiffany & Young. At first it was a stationery and haberdashery store. On the first day of operation, sales revenue was $4.98. In 1841, another person joins the partners - J. L. Ellis (eng. J. L. Ellis), after which the brand receives an updated name - "Tiffany, Young & Ellis"
