Step 1
Peel 3 tangerines, squeeze juice out of them. Stick the clove buds into the remaining tangerines.
Step 2
Cut the red onion into thin strips, chop the cabbage. Combine in a saucepan with tangerine zest and juice, sugar and vinegar. Cover and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.
Step 3
Add the tangerines stuffed with cloves, cover again and cook for another 20-30 minutes, until the cabbage is soft. Salt. Serve warm or hot with fatty meats such as pork knuckle.
