Costume (from French Costume - clothes, robe, dress) - a traditional outer dress (clothes), usually made of one fabric, traditionally for men. Includes jacket, vest and trousers. Since the middle of the 20th century, there has also been a ladies' dress - usually includes a jacket and a skirt, but there are also women's suits with a vest and trousers (not common).
The classic suit most often includes a jacket and trousers, less often a vest; it is complemented by a shirt, tie or bow tie and classic shoes; sometimes a hat, pocket square, cufflinks or a pocket watch, the chain of which is passed through the buttonholes on the waistcoat.
A variety of costumes can be by color (popular colors are black, gray, white, dark blue, dark green, burgundy, blue, etc.), by the type of outerwear (this can be a jacket, frock coat, business card, tailcoat, tuxedo , coat, raincoat), by rows of buttons (single and double-breasted), by the presence or absence of a vest (single-breasted or double-breasted, usually worn under a single-breasted jacket), by the presence of accessories (pocket watch, pocket square, cufflinks), by the shape of lapels and other options.
