18-month fade.
You could say this is my zero pair. I’ve worn them about 80% of the time since November 2024. But unlike hardcore denimheads, I’ve been throwing them in the washing machine almost every week. I even boiled them once just to see what would happen in real-life use.
Honestly, I think it only made them better.
First, they held up. No serious damage, even though I never went easy on them. I did everything in these. They’re both my rough draft and final version.
Second, the fabric softened, the fit settled and molded to me. At this point, they feel like a second skin.
Third, the color washed out into wave-like patterns, almost like the sea. I really like that effect. Sure, I could’ve pushed for higher contrast, but I wanted to fade them faster.
I still have some of this fabric left. Thinking about making a small batch and having it treated at a factory with chemicals.
