"It is made from muscle and fat, similar to meat from live animals," notes Aleph Farms, adding that their steak is "wonderful, tender and juicy."
The company claims it can now produce any type of steak and plans to expand its range of meat products. Aleph Farms said last year that it was partnering with Mitsubishi to bring lab-grown beef to Japan, and in 2019, the firm raised cattle cells on the International Space Station.
