She was born on October 28, 1967 in the city of Smyrna (Georgia) [6] [7]. Roberts became the third child in the family. She has an older brother, Eric Roberts (born April 18, 1956) and a sister, Lisa (born August 5, 1965). Father Walter Grady Roberts (1933–1977) was a water mattress salesman who was also an actor and writer. Mother Betty Lou Bredemas, a parish secretary and part-time actress, was born in Minneapolis in 1934. Roberts is of Irish, Scottish, Welsh, English, German and Swedish roots[8].
