On this day, I join Christians to reflect on the death of Jesus Christ. He was persecuted and killed for doing what was right, but his death marked redemption of millions and a new journey of faith. Today many people are being persecuted in our country and others are languishing in prisons because of fighting for change. I joined fellow mourners in Makudui to bid a final farewell to Mr. Habibu Wambende, the father of my dear friend Mariam Wambende. Mr. Wambende, a former Chairman of the Northern City Division, was a dedicated leader whose unwavering commitment greatly advanced the struggle for change. We had a successful Eastern Region National Unity Platform leaders Conference in Mbale which was graced by the Party President Bobi Wine Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya , Nubian li Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro Hon Mwiru Paul among others. Our leaders and foot soldiers have been given capacity to engage in the struggle but also to be better leaders. Over 40 districts from Busoga, Bukedi, Bugisu & Teso attended the meeting!
