Supporting the next generation 🎻
My Hawaii Lifestyle ▶︎ NINA THAI | Hawaii Fashion
This year, I was honored to support the Hawaiʻi Chamber Music Festival Gala by providing wardrobe for the artists participating in this special event.
As a designer, there is something incredibly meaningful about seeing talented performers bring music to life while wearing pieces created with love and aloha.
The 2026 gala, themed “East Meets West,” celebrates the cultural connections that make Hawaiʻi such a unique place in the world.
For me, supporting the arts has always been about more than fashion.

今回、Hawaiʻi Chamber Music Festivalにて
アーティストの皆さまへ衣装提供という形で参加できたことを
とても光栄に思っています

音楽もアートも
人の心を動かし
新しい発見や感動を与えてくれるもの

そして若いアーティストたちが夢を追い続けられる
環境を支えることは
未来への投資でもあると思っています

今回のガラの収益は
授業料無料の Young Artist Program の支援に活用され
ハワイの若い音楽家たちの育成につながります

私たちの会社も
お洋服を作るだけではなく

コミュニティや文化
そして未来を担う世代への貢献を大切にしたい
そんな想いで活動しています

芸術を支えることは
地域を支えること

そして未来を支えること
これからもハワイの文化やアートが
次の世代へ受け継がれていくことを願っています 🌺

Dream workplace

Sheraton Waikīkī was once
a place I only dreamed about

And now

my store is here
inside one of Hawai‘i’s most iconic hotels

Being able to say
“This is where I work”

still feels surreal sometimes

シェラトンワイキキは

長い間
私にとって憧れの場所でした

そんな場所に
自分のお店を持てていること

そして

ここが私の職場です
と言えることを

とても誇りに思っています

不思議なのは

シェラトンって
どこでカメラを向けても

なぜか絵になる

光や空気感

Lei Day spirit

Every year on May 1st
Hawai‘i celebrates Lei Day

A day filled with flowers
aloha
and beautiful traditions

To me

a lei is more than an accessory

The moment you wear one
everything feels brighter

your face lights up
your mood lifts

and somehow
the whole moment feels more special

Graduation
birthdays
weddings

人生の大切な瞬間に
いつも寄り添っている

But honestly

every day can be Lei Day

今ハワイでは

“Wear Lei Everyday”
“Everyday is Lei Day”

そんなムーブメントも広がっています

特別な日だけじゃなく

今日という日を大切にするために
レイをまとう

That idea feels so Hawai‘i to me

小さな幸せや
日常を祝うこと

それもアロハの形

There’s something healing
about spending time with ohana

laughing together
sharing stories
checking in on each other

In Hawai‘i

“ohana” means more than family

It can also mean
the people who stay beside you
through different seasons of life

オハナと過ごす時間って

心がふっと軽くなる

たくさん笑って
たくさん話して

“また頑張ろう”って思える

ハワイで学んだ
ohana という言葉

それは家族だけじゃなく

人生を一緒に歩いてくれる
大切な人たちのこと

こういう時間こそ
いちばんのごほうびかもしれない

Local dessert question

If someone asked you

“What dessert do locals love in Hawai‘i?”

what would you think of first

For me

maybe Cheesecake Factory cheesecake

Apparently
one slice can be over 1400 calories

which honestly sounds a little wild

but somehow

the satisfaction level is completely different

ハワイのローカルが好きなデザートって
何を想像しますか

私はなぜか

チーズケーキファクトリーの
チーズケーキを思い浮かべる

この一切れ

なんと1400キロカロリー近いらしくて
聞いた時はびっくり

でも

あの満足感は
やっぱり特別

仕事終わりに買って帰って

“今日も頑張った”って
自分にご褒美をあげる時間が好き

幸せって

案外こういう小さな瞬間なのかもしれない

Pop colors & aloha

Tamo’s artwork is instantly recognizable

with bold lines
powerful energy
and playful colors that brighten the mood

Just looking at the pieces
makes you feel lighter somehow

Tamo is also the official ambassador
of Waikīkī Beachcomber Hotel

with artwork displayed
inside the hotel’s art space

And this year again

the visuals for the Hawai‘i Love Campaign
running through the 31st
feature Tamo’s art 🌺

One of my favorite things about Instagram

is meeting people
who share the same love for Hawai‘i

Art has a beautiful way
of connecting people

especially when it comes from aloha

Flower therapy

A little story about flowers

I’ve always loved
making my own flower bouquets

Choosing colors
touching each flower
arranging them slowly

Somehow
it makes me feel calmer

And interestingly

research says flowers may help
boost creativity
while also reducing stress
and creating a sense of relaxation

Just looking at flowers
already softens the mood

but actually touching them
might be even more healing

お花にまつわる裏話

私は昔から
自分でブーケを作る時間が好き

色を合わせたり
お花に触れたり
少しずつ形にしていく時間

それだけで
心が落ち着いていく気がする

研究によると

お花には
クリエイティビティを高めたり

気持ちを穏やかにする効果があるそう

たしかに

お花って
見ているだけでも癒されるけど

実際に触れると
もっと心がやわらぐ気がする

自然の力って
本当にすごい

Leʻahi stories

My Hawaii Lifestyle ▶︎

Did you know

Diamond Head
is also called Leʻahi

In Hawaiian

“Le” means brow or ridge
and “ʻahi” refers to the yellowfin tuna fish

It’s said the shape of the crater
looked like the fin of an ʻahi fish
from the ocean

Another interesting story

The name “Diamond Head” came later
when British sailors mistakenly thought
the sparkling calcite crystals on the rocks
were diamonds

実はダイヤモンドヘッドには

“レアヒ” という
ハワイ語の名前があります

昔の人たちは
海から見たこの山の形を

マグロの背びれのようだと
感じたそう

そして

今の “Diamond Head” という名前は

岩に反射したキラキラを見て
イギリス人がダイヤモンドと勘違いしたことが由来

本当はダイヤモンドではなかったけれど

それでも
人を惹きつける美しさがあった

何百年経っても
変わらず愛される景色

ハワイの自然には
物語がたくさん詰まっている
