Today our family is asking for prayers for Steve as he ends his cancer journey at home under hospice care. Please pray that his remaining days are filled with comfort and peace. He is ready to take God's hand.

Michael Bare accepts the Warren Potter Award for his father, Steve Bare, who was unable to attend the Aitkin Chamber of Commerce dinner Jan. 27 at the 40 Club Convention Center in Aitkin.

It's Friday and Bare's will be closing tomorrow. Matt Bare (Steve and Janice's son) posted the following on FB awhile ago and we want to share it with you.Please- send your stories to Matt so he can share those special memories with his dad!

"As some of you may know my family has made the difficult decision to close the shoe store due to health issues with my dad. Although this is a hard decision it is the right one. The store has been a big part of the community and an even bigger part of my life. I have spent numerous hours and days there growing up, talking to customers and spending time with my grandparents and dad. I have so many great memories there and hope many of you do as well. I would like to ask friends, family and people from Aitkin and customers that if you have a special memory of the store, favorite shoe or some other fun story of your time there that you pass that along to me via e-mail. to share with my dad at the end of the sale when the store has closed. I am sure he would enjoy hearing from many of you. Please share your story by emailing me at [email protected]. Thanks!"
