Our Story
Born out of a love of lux goods, the original owner, Cindy birthed her dream in 2007. A year later, life changed and she returned to a lux goods career and sold her shop to a customer, the current owner Wendy in October 2008. Although Wendy’s college degree was in dietetics, she had worked in resale retail all through college at several stores around Birmingham and found she loved the hustle of re-purposing and flipping fashion items. With Over 27 yrs experience , the owner Wendy enjoys making her shop an enjoyable experience, peaceful atmosphere, and a place to serve others and have fun with fashion and the customers who have become family . You will often find her husband and daughter helping out at the store.
We have great helpers and fantasticaly fun customers, you will enjoy shopping with what feels like girlfriends! Constantly researching the fashion world & trends, different selling platforms, and discovering friendships with other shop owners- She strives to make sure her the shopping selection is bountiful and the prices are competitive.
Consigned Design continues to grow and move towards what the customers are looking for and need. They started offering drop and run appointments to accomodate busy moms and career women as well as video chat shopping on lunch breaks with after hours pick up in secure lockers located out side their store for purchases as well as after hours drop off for consignment. (see her descriptions under services for consigning) She looks forward to a strong future with the community support she has received, but states “The shop is God’s and His to do with it what He will, I just get to be apart of it and see His goodness at work in it. My prayer is that I always steward well the things He has entrusted to me- whether that be the merchandise, consignors’ accounts, or hearts that He has put in my path.”
