So excited to be featured at local boutique, Feathered Outlaw in Alameda for June!

We are so excited to introduce you to one of our June featured artists ✨ designer, artist and crafter, Bama switches mediums and modalities often, Most recently her art has transitioned from drag costumes and performances to hand-dyed macrame, woodworking, and teaching yoga. She offers her work through her brand Big Glitter.

During 2020 she started hand-dying recycled cotton macrame cord and knotting it into minimalist wall hangings to showcase the ombré effect achieved. The dying and macrame processes provide a way to be present and process the anxiety brought on by the uncertainty of the pandemic.

Bama is one of the artists commissioned to complete a piece for the West Alameda Arts District Community Healing Garden. Her piece, “Together We Soar” is a love letter to Alameda, celebrating what can be achieved when the community is united.
