🌟 Star Business of the Week 🌟

The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize Spinrite/ Coats & Clark as this week’s Star Business of the Week!

Located in Albany, Coats & Clark serves as a key distribution hub for sewing thread, embroidery thread, zippers, and Yarnspirations products. Since becoming part of Spinrite in 2019, the Albany facility has played an essential role in supporting customers across the United States.

With 120–150 employees, their operation includes a dedicated e-commerce department running seven days a week, serving as the only e-commerce hub for Spinrite in the U.S. Their reach extends to major retailers like Walmart, Michaels, and Amazon—highlighting the important role Albany plays in a national supply chain.

Coats & Clark continues to make a strong impact locally through job creation and globally through distribution, showcasing the strength of industry right here in our community.

⭐ Star Business of the Week is presented by WALB News 10 and Fleming & Riles Insurance, with treats provided by Sugar Mama’s Bakery.

Helping our community. SOWEGA Council on Aging has some great programs for our seniors from exercise to crafts. It gets them out of the house and they get to socialize with others.

To say by the end of the week everyone was wiped out, is an understatement. The days were long for the ones working the sale but from the comments and messages I have received, they were very helpful. We had LOADS of wool samples (pallets worth) that were free and customers could take however much they could carry. We also donated a lot to local elementary, middle and high schools (Radium Elementary, Radium Middle, Dougherty, Westover and Monroe High, Lee County Middle and High Schools). Albany ARC and SOWEGA Council on Aging were delivered boxes for their craft classes as well.

Day 2 - Done
A lot of lovely people came through on Day 2. I didn't get to spend as much time out as I did on Monday. I did see cars in and out throughout the day. We still have a variety of yarn left. Unfortunately, no Caron cakes are out there but others brands. I will take some photos later this morning and post so you can see what is left. I am not sure if there will be more brought out, I will check and post an update.

It is so fun to hear about some of the projects everyone's working on or planning to work on.

Oh yeh, we had a group of friends from Tampa that drove up, some others from Alabama and around the state of Georgia.

If you are traveling to see us, safe travels to you!
