OK Aviva

OK Aviva I design shirts, hoodies, bags, and more that reflect my identity as a black and Jewish mama. I hope you find something you love here. I needed that shirt.

Hi, I'm Antoinette aka Aviva. I started this shop because my post-partum body no longer loves my favorite Tel Aviv crop tee that I bought when I visited the Galilee five years ago. I knew it would be difficult to replace because it was a rare find. I've been to Israel four times, and every trip I find myself searching for cute clothes that hinted, "I'm Jewish and proud of it" without screaming, "I

'm a tourist." My Tel Aviv crop tee was the only thing that did that for me. Last December, a random question popped into my head: "How do you say 'melanin' in Hebrew?" When I learned that it's simply spelled phonetically from the English word, I thought that would make a cool shirt. I also needed that shirt to scream, "I'm black, African, Jewish, and proud of it." So I started working up a design and within a few weeks, I racked up designs for other shirts and merchandise that I wish I could have found when I was in Israel. At some point, it occurred to me that I can't be the only one looking for Afrocentric Jewish merchandise like this, and so this shop was born. I truly hope you find something you love here. Best,

Antoinette

In Genesis, a dove was released by Noah after the flood in order to find land; it came back carrying a freshly plucked olive leaf, a sign of life after the Flood and of G-d's bringing Noah, his family and the animals to land.
