That's a whole lot of tiny squeaks 🐹💛

At The Guinea Pig Sanctuary in Salisbury, Massachusetts, Kimie Smothermon and a team of volunteers care for around 350 to 400 guinea pigs on any given day. It's one of only a handful of U.S. rescues devoted solely to abandoned guinea pigs, and requests for help come from across the country — including one recent call involving 97 guinea pigs from New York.

The sanctuary doesn't just give them a place to stay. Volunteers clean enclosures, provide medical care and learn each guinea pig's individual personality while working to find new homes whenever possible. Smothermon says guinea pigs are social animals that often need to be adopted in pairs — and shouldn't spend their entire lives inside cages.

Their sister, the runt of the litter, was adopted last week.

Their other 2 siblings were bonded and adopted together so we are hopeful for the same for these boys too! 💙

Our rescue is loaded with black cat good-luck charms. Therefore, we are throwing a Black Cat Gala at the Purr Haus, Sunday the 23rd. These kittens are exciting, playful, definitely loving.

We will be serving refreshments and providing a raffle basket with two gift certificates: one from Sleepy cat winery and another for Purr Haus. Entering the raffle will be different than usual, so stop in to find out how to enter. We will be delighted to see you!
