Decided on which colors and print I will be using for my first hoodie for my designer line of hoodies. Not my first, I think I have made around 10 or so of them over the years.
Going with brown, black and leopard print. After I make it I will wear it as much as possible. Like with my leg sleeves, I occasionally get asked about them and let people know I design and make them. And give them my contact and web info.

Decided on which colors and print I will be using for my first hoodie for my designer line of hoodies. Not my first, I think I have made around 10 or so of them over the years.

Going with brown, black and leopard print. After I make it I will wear it as much as possible. Like with my leg sleeves, I occasionally get asked about them and let people know I design and make them. And give them my contact and web info.

Designing it right now, may need to add an additional color, not sure, will have to let the art process figure that out.

Right now I only have my regular sewing machine out, my serger is still in storage. If I get steady orders will need to get the serger out for quicker construction of them.

Going to use the triple stitch on my sewing machine for the construction seems. It is a stretch stitch, but also a very strong stitch. It goes two stitches forward then one stitch back, so each stitch has two threads in it. Don’t really need the stretch part of it, just the strength of it.

As for the top stitching will use one that is made of x’s and sideline stitches. Doesn’t have a name, other than a decorative stitch. It makes the fleece fabric seams very flat, and covers the seam allowances on the inside of garment.

For the one I will be selling, not sure if I am going to have them lined or unlined like nearly all hoodies are. Call me waffles on that one.

The hood will be lined, usually with the contrast color or pattern.

For the design, it is a toss up between going to highly detailed or a little held back, the time difference between the make times, will change the price point, no one is going to buy a $300 hoodie made of fleece fabric.

The hoodie jacket market is a much larger market than a men's corset vests.

I'm going to design a couple of them and do some test marketing and see if there is a profitable market for them.

They are much easier to make than the vests, much easier for fitting because hoodie jackets are loose fitting.

Reasons I use AI for creating images of garments.

With AI I can iterate dozens of images, and quickly change the parameters of the prompt, add words like, aippers, clasps, buckles, pockets, lapels, collars, buttons, straps, ect. Then you add in different styles, vintage, sportswear, streetseat, steampunk, ect.

And then I can review them and pick and choose which items I like and narrow down my design, then sketch and draft out a pattern to construct the garment.

Usually I would start a new garment by doing pencil sketches, and can only do one for about 15 mins or so. So could speed hours redoing different ideas. And maybe only have 5 or so major styles to choose from.

With the initial design phase, AI saves me many hours. And gives me dozens and dozens of styles and themes to choose from.

Men’s corset vest, the red and black is the most common style available around on the internet. Nothing against that style but only works if you have a very fit body to start with.

The general look I will be going toward is the brown and gray one below.

Going to be designing them with a bit more masculine style and fitted for the more average to larger bodies. With some of the construction panels made of stretch materials, spandex, powermesh, scuba (not scuba diving, but a much thinner stretcher fabric), ect.

Going to be designing a line of Men's shapewear corset vests, made out of stretch fabrics, spandex/lycra. There are already a few designers of Men’s corset vests, but all designed for the perfect male form. Less flashy than the high fashion corsets, but more tailored for men, and less feminine than a regular corset.
