Another hot item that I sold at the herb festival. One of the shoppers who lives in Adams County brings me empty bags by the ton. I got busy a week or two ago trying to get a bunch made to take to the six or so craft events that I have this fall. If anyone is interested in these bags, they are five dollars each.

Last year at the herb festival in October, I was asked why I didn’t have any more children’s clothing. I had stopped making it because it wasn’t a good seller. However, I came across a bolt of this beautiful blue fabric while at a thrift store in Holmes County. 10 yards for $12. I have quite a bit of fabric in stock that I need to use up. So here is a sneak peek of dresses that I have made from the blue fabric. Three are complete and three are waiting for the ruffles to be added and I have enough fabric left to make two or three more. They will be added to my market stock pile. I will take them to the herb festival in October. However, if anyone is interested, I have size small extra small and extra extra small. The price is $25.

50 years ago this weekend I was only barely 15. I had just completed a summer full of teenage sewing classes ✂️🧵🪡. There was a celebration in our town with a sewing competition. My mother encouraged me to enter. I walked away with every prize except 1st place. My mother was so proud of me. There were many entries and the first place winner was an older lady who made a lined blazer. I remember as if it was yesterday. Here I am 50 years later sewing Bridal formal wear and everything in between.
I worked in two bridal shops and a menswear shop before I turned 19.
