🔸✨🔶The Dapper Day outing to Disneyland last week, and the really helped me gain perspective on the work I am doing, both creatively and emotionally. This has been the most challenging year of my life so far, with moving away from home for the first time, navigating networking in LA, takin care of myself. All of it has been very overwhelming but I am so grateful for the space to foster growth in myself. I am so much more connected to myself, and my feelings, than ever before. That is so painful, and so rewarding. This weekend I am visiting my hometown, Orlando, and the Dapper Day events at Disney World. I look forward to seeing many familiar faces and friends. 🔶✨🔸 PC: 🔸 I’m wearing a jumper by that I altered to have bloomer style shorts. 🔸🐠🔶 I think we can all identity with feeling lost, and dissatisfied with our abilities.🔸 I loved Dory as a kid, not just because she’s funny, but because she was open about her struggles, and wasn’t afraid to ask for help. Our abilities and talents vary so greatly. The only way to grow and learn is by being vulnerable with your loved ones, and asking for help when you need it. Dory reminds me, not to fear neediness. The relationships we form when we’re honest about our needs, are the strongest. I’m so grateful asked me to spread the word, that Disney-Pixar’s Finding Dory is playing tonight at 9pm/8c as part of Freeform’s ! I pulled out my best Blue Tang inspired look, and headed to Pixar Pier! I hope you get a chance to catch Disney-Pixar’s Finding Dory tonight, with your friends and family! I hope it helps start a conversation about being vulnerable about your needs with each other. 🔶🐠🔸 @ Disney California Adventure Park

🔸🎶🔶Next Friday! John Williams himself will be at The for a celebration of his iconic film scores! Maestro of the Movies with is sure to be an absolute delight. I think ET will be the most sob inducing for me. Mostly because it was the only ride at Universal Orlando I could handle as a kid 🙈 Also, I may be the only person alive who hasn’t seen many of these classic films. I am such a musical theater person, and have prioritized that over seeing Star Wars, Saving Private Ryan, Jurassic Park (until this summer) and countless others that will be featured! I’m so excited to hear all of these iconic scores, for the first time for many! You can get 30% for August 30th, opening night! With code LEGENDARY for specific sections. I hope you can join! 🔶🎶🔸 PC: 🔸

🔸❤️🔶 “I aimed for the sky
A nine year old can see so far
I’ll conquer the world and be a star
I’ll do it all by the time I’m ten
I would know that confidence
If I knew a way back to then” Jeff Bowen for [title of show]🔶❤️🔸 Today is my birthday, I’m 25. Yet, I’m more like 9yr old DaVid than ever before. 🔸 I moved out of my parent’s home for the first time in March, to start a new chapter in LA. I’ve been in a constant state of growth, changing, learning, and gaining responsibilities I had been privileged to not deal with. This has been really challenging, as I knew it would be. I’m so grateful life has taught me time and again, that being honest and vulnerable is the only way to build connection, and evolve. We must remember to stay needy and sensitive. Telling our loved ones we need them, is the bravest thing one can do. 🔸 I am a person with very little anxiety for looking foolish, or overly enthused. Yet I’ve still internalized so much fear of self expression. If we all check back in with our younger selves, often, we’ll find our truest passion. So, today for my Birthday, please do me a favor and do something 5yr old you would be excited for. Buy that Barbie, pop in that worn out VHS, find an old toy set on eBay, enjoy a pb&j. Reconnecting with our childhoods can open us up to a less inhibited creator, a more frequent cryer, a less afraid, or a more sensitive version of ourselves. 🔸 photo at the best place to experience childhood again. 🔸 ***r ***rstyle ***rfashion

The announcement brought me back to the Moana inspired shoot I did with and shooting! Such a blazing hot day, with a near empty beach, and the clearest water. 🔸🌱🔶”And so the Baker(DaVid) with the second article(performance) in hand, feeling braver and more satisfied than ever felt, ran back through the woods.”🔶🌱🔸 Last night I got to see the second night of Into the Woods ! joined me, and I’m so glad we had the experience together. She’s one of the kindest souls I know, and our shared experiences as performers since childhood, made our viewing experience so cathartic. Theatre is my first love, and I adore the community that builds when people are telling honest stories to each other. Despite this wonderful world of theatre, there’s is so much damage done to young people that happens in favor of keeping with traditions. The problems of fatphobia, sexism, transphobia, lack of racial diversity, lack of woman led content, is all being put into question in new ways now. I’m so glad that these conversations happen in the community. In an effort to explore what we can do better, I want to hear your stories. What art scars did educational theater give you? Were you asked to change yourself to fit traditional casting? How often was your body size put into question? I want to hear from you, as I research and start to unpack our shared experiences. Tonight I’m heading back to the Bowl for the final night of the festival. This weekend has given me the confidence and perspective to be more vocal about my experiences and the ways I want to see theater continue to evolve. I only hope that I can channel this new found determination into a new phase of my career, that involves discussing my experiences more openly. Please send me DM about your experiences in theater, I’ll be going through all my requests in the next week or so. Thank you for joining me on this journey!🔸 @ Hollywood Bowl

🔸❤️🔶”Into the woods, each time you go, there’s more to learn of what you know.”🔶❤️🔸

Lets talk about expressing our excitement fully?

Last night I got to see Into the Woods at the with , an experience that I would call nothing short of life affirming. This show has been a huge part of my life from age 7. “Children Will Listen” could be considered my thesis of life, and a super cut of all the times I’ve sung Rapunzel’s theme to myself would be hours long.

🔸 It takes a lot of vulnerability to express how deeply something effects you, and it’s much easier to only show your passions bit by bit. Throughout all our lives we’ve been scarred by people not respecting our passions. People constantly ask us to calm down, not with their words, but their actions. Nothing hurts me more than seeing someone excitedly discussing their passion and being disregarded by others. It triggers all of the feelings I had in elementary school. In elementary school I lost the version of DaVid with no inhibitions from preschool. I lost the DaVid that daily donned the Jasmine costume and pink slippers at playtime. Social life in school taught me it wasn’t acceptable to sing Grease on the swing, or do splits in the corner. That culture ruined my experience in school, and made me an anxious child. 🔸

It wasn’t until 2002 when I started theater summer camps, that I found people who wore their heart on their sleeve. The very first camp I ever took, we watched the older kids rehearse Into the Woods. By age 11 I had seen the show live 5 times, played Jack, and was still holding ’s VHS hostage for weekly viewing. In the years since I’ve costumed three productions of the show, and watched every ounce of content released online. I grew up with the show, and it grew up with me. 🔸 Each time I revisit the work, it has more to tell me, and every time I go through struggle, there’s something in the show that helps me through. This week I’m going to do a series called “Everything I Need to Know I Learned from Into the Woods” in my posts, I’m going to unpack some of my favorite themes and lyrics. Thank you for the space to be vulnerable. ❤️ @ Los Angeles, California

🔸🌹🔶 Yesterday was so delightful! hosted a party to premier the new doll line designed by with ! The day was full of wonderful people to catch up with, a beautifully crafted party and my favorite Disney Princes x Hasbro doll line so far! I was so pleased to be there! The highlight of the day may have been when three different groups of the guests all happened to end up in the same shopping/dining complex after the party! Such serendipity! August 1 is when the dolls come out and I’m sure they’re going to be a hit with doll enthusiasts and children alike! 🔶🌹🔸 PC: 🔸

🔸🌹🔶The year goes by so fast, doesn’t it? Already only 5 months from Christmas? I always feel so inspired to create in December, in large part because it’s always been a hectic time full of people to see, and things to do. Pulling that feeling out of Christmas itself and giving every day the permission to be as joyous, is a gift. There is a concept that people should reserve expressions of joy, love, philanthropy, vulnerability for specific occasions. Why not allow yourself that freedom everyday? Allowing yourself to express freely and publicly how excited you are for something, a career opportunity, a nostalgic concert, what have you, is scary. We fear that being vulnerable will leave us exposed to critics, and that’s absolutely true. However, you’re almost always guaranteed to make more friends than enemies when you express yourself honestly. So today, in theme with ‘Christmas in July’ let’s take sometime to indulge in something we love, no matter how childish, AND share that with the world.🔶🌹🔸 PC: for 2016. An annual holiday event I host, themed to a different Disney Princess each year. Building this Christmas Belle dress for was a dream come true, and is so dashing modeling my Prince costume. 🔸
